Hoping for a little help making my keeper decisions...
My league is 10 teams with the following hitter slots: C,C,1B,2B,3B,SS,CI,MI,4OF,2Ut. Hitting categories are standard 5 plus OPS. We've tried to design the league so there is a lot of turnover from year to year. This resulted in 3 keepers from each team where you lose a draft pick the round before a player was drafted to keep each guy (first rounders from previous year can't be kept). Multi-year keepers move to 7th/5th/3rd/1st. For instance, I have Justin Upton for a 10th rounder this year, who would then become a 7th, 5th, etc.
Upton is my definite. I need to pick 2 out of the following 3:
Pablo Sandoval- 9th round
Carlos Gonzalez- 20th round
Elvis Andrus- 29th round
My thoughts: Pablo is tough to turn down, especially in an OPS league. Andrus kills OPS, but the draft value is great. I love Gonzalez, but there are some question marks. Other guys will be keeping some of the top OF options (Braun, Werth, Lind, and a few others), while fewer MI options will be kept, leaving more in the draft. Thoughts?
I'd keep Upton, Sandoval and Andrus.
