Guys -
I recently traded for Tex and now have him securely ensconced in my Util spot (I have Howard at 1B). This means I have a daily decision to make as to who to play in my RF slot - Markakis or Hawpe.
Markakis is a strong second-half player (who will steal a base or two) and Hawpe is hot right now. I guess i can sit Hawpe against lefties, but are there any 'rules of thumb' for sitting/starting Markakis?
Alternatively, I could solve the problem by trading Hawpe - is he a sell-high candidate yet?

You should trade Hawpe (or someone else). There's no use in wasting an offensive player on your bench 75% of the time. If you need a closer, I think Hawpe should be able to get one.

The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions. Is your league H2H? Roto? I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from. If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters. I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

It's 2B/SS where I really need help (and I could prob stand to trade a closer away) - what could I expect for Hawpe there? I offered a Posada for Furcal and he rejected it. Go back with Hawpe?

Why don't you just offer Hawpe and Posada since neither of them separately are going to get you anything worthwhile.

Not asking for any more help - just venting.
Offered the guy Hawpe + Posada for Furcal.
I accept that neither of them are bona fide studs, but neither are going to exactly sink your season either.
His response? 'I'm happy with my current catcher.'
His current catcher?
Suzuki.
