Ok, I feel like I might be overthinking things here, but hear me out: I need a min of 18 IP for the week. I currently have 5.1 IP and am winning Saves (3 to 2), ERA (0.00 to 2.45), WHIP (0.38 to 0.95), and K/BB (9.00 to 4.25)--all those averages are pretty much unsustainable. I'm losing Wins (0 to 1), and Ks (9 to 17). I feel like it's going to be tough to keep these numbers up, so I'm thinking of just punting Wins and and Ks and only starting my sure-thing SPs (if that exists) to stay ahead in the other categories.
I have Cliff Lee @Pit, Smoltz @Was, Meche @Pit, CC @NYM, and Kershaw vs.Sea remaining this week. My RPs are Nathan, Rivera, Aardsma, Frasor, and Qualls. I could even bench Qualls and maybe Frasor.
He has Carpenter @NYM and Buehrle vs ChC remaining this week. Fuentes, Franklin, Wood are his RPs.
Is this a sound strategy or am I really thinking too hard about things. If you like where my head's at, which pitchers would you go with?
