Early season keepers

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Early season keepers

Postby HipHip » Wed Nov 20, 2013 6:56 pm

What up? 12 team H2H keeper league that is very deep. Pitching is relatively weak on a lot of teams. When I lost in the semi's, I dropped some real players to pick up "prospects" hence the motley crew below in some areas. Scoring system is in the sig, team has changed.

Can keep however many you want for a cost. Money isn't really a factor so ignore that. Round they would be kept in is in () obviously. UD is undrafted. UD are just put at the end of the draft and work there way up (i.e. 1st UD is round 22, 2nd is round 21, 3rd is round 20 etc.)

C- Jason Castro (UD)
1B- Freddie Freeman (8)
2B- Kolten Wong (UD)
SS- None
3B- Pablo Sandoval (3)
OF- Alex Gordon (6)
OF- Shin Shoo Choo (4)
OF- Kole Calhoun (UD)
Util- Cody Asche (UD)

SP- Matt Cain(3)
SP- Mat Latos (7)
SP- Hyun Jin Ryu (12)
RP- Addison Russell (14)
RP- Mariano Rivera (ha)
P- Carlos Martinez (UD)
P- Yordana Ventura (UD)
P- Alex Wood (UD)

BN- Nick Castellanos (UD)
BN- Erasmo Ramirez (UD)
BN- Dayan Viciedo (UD)
BN- Yan Gomes (UD)

Pretty average team but they managed 3rd place through some hot streaks and solid streams.

Let me know your thoughts!

Thanks.

I think it's really early for keepers, players haven't even begun to change teams yet... Is there an early deadline?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Everyone's keepable on your team, depends on what trades are being offered to you... Obviously Sandoval, Cain and Choo aren't great prices...

Yeah, I know what you mean about not knowing whats happening currently.

I have an offer on the table... CMart for Springer. Hard to know what the Cardinals rotation will be.

Ressurecting with ranks coming out and trades being cleaned up.

Did Cmart for Springer so I now have him UD as a backup OF pending how his spring training goes. If he stays in AAA for a few months we have a NA spot I could toss him in.

New question is do I trust Wong to do something and get some counting stats at 2b, or do you try to grab an Aaron Hill or some other meh 2b just in case?

Keep Wong and use the waiver wire if needed or probably overdraft a 2b because of scarcity and deal with Wong at a later date if he gets hot?
