5 Keepers

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

5 Keepers

Postby Cubes10 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 3:05 pm

12 team points league... debating who to keep. Can keep up to 5 players for as long as we want, no contracts (lose first 5 rounds). Pitching heavy league (W=5, QS=5, L=-5, K=1, BB=-1, S=5, IP=3, etc)

For sure keeping:
Miggy Cabrera
Bumgarner
Scherzer

Contemplating:
Longoria
Matt Moore
Shields
Gerrit Cole

Leaning towards Longo and Moore, but Moore's FIP and xFIP scare me and Longo strikes out too much for a points league. Thinking I could package a few players for a stud.

Thoughts?

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I have a feeling Gerrit Cole is going to be nasty this year.

What makes you say that about Cole? Just a gut reaction?

Great K/BB ratio, pitches in the NL, gets a lot of ground balls, his FIP and xFIP were actually less than his already awesome 3.22 ERA as a rookie meaning he was a bit unlucky last year, won't have an innings limit, has a 5 pitch arsenal including a great heater, didn't throw many sliders last year which can sometimes lead to injury concerns the following year if too many are thrown, dude is a big boy so I think he projects well, and he actually got better in the 2nd half.

I think I just talked myself into keeping him over Moore...
