Baker or Floyd?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Baker or Floyd?

Postby birdog » Wed May 27, 2009 4:11 pm

Grey,

Scott Baker is a FA in my league and Gavin Floyd is now on waivers. They both are struggling this year but had good appearances their last time out. Has either one turned the corner? I'll be dropping John Baker since I'll be getting Weiters off my bench on Fri so I will have an empty roster slot and thought I'd add a SP.

12 team non-keeper standard scoring Yahoo league (currently 4th place).

SP Jon Lester
SP Max Scherzer
SP Edwin Jackson
RP Jonathan Papelbon
RP Ramón Ramírez
P Andrew Bailey
P Rafael Soriano
P Ryan Madson
BN Matt Capps
BN Cliff Lee
BN David Price

Thanks,

Mark

I'd pickup Scott Baker, but not start him first time out.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Thanks for another quick reply. Will do. Would you drop C John Baker and pick up SP Scott Baker as soon as Weiters is active (Fri)?

Grey,

OK, I sat Scott Baker on Fri (He gave up 4 runs and two homers in 5 2/3 innings in the loss to Tampa Schmampa). Good advice, BTW. I would like to pick up Tommy Hanson (per your advice in your last article). Which of my players should get the ax? Should I snag Hanson now?

Careful with Hanson his matchups are good and terrible. You'll have to watch him closely.

CIN
NYY
PHI
WAS
COL
NYM
SF
FLA
SD

Every time he gets a decent matchup its almost always followed by what looks to be a sure-fire arse beating
