Drafted last night. Thoughts/advice welcomed.

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Drafted last night. Thoughts/advice welcomed.

Postby TheHoffmeister » Mon Mar 25, 2013 5:12 am

Well, I had my Yahoo draft last night. Just wondering if I could get some input on how I made out.

Razzball3000 indicates my offense looks good, but my pitching is a little weak (especially in saves).

It's a 12-team 7x7 h2h league (we score both saves and holds). My keepers are noted with "(k)".

Here's the team:

Offense

C - Salvador Perez (k)
1B - Mark Trumbo
2B - Brandon Phillips
3B - Will Middlebrooks (k)
SS - Josh Rutledge
LF - Carlos Gonzalez
CF - Jacoby Ellsbury
RF - Justin Upton
UTIL - Shin-Soo Choo
UTIL - David Ortiz

BENCH - Norichika Aoki (k)
BENCH - Andreltron Simmons
BENCH - Wil Meyers

Pitching

SP - Madison Bumgarner (k)
SP - Max Scherzer (k)
SP - Kris Medlen (k)
SP - Tim Hudson
SP - Doug Fister
SP - Hyun-Jin Ryu
SP - Mike Fiers

RP - Casey Janssen
RP - Ernesto Frieri
RP - Sean Doolittle
RP - Kyuji Fujikawa

I'm fully anticipating Papi starting the season on the DL and slotting Aoki into the other UTIL spot, then picking up another RP. Also, in the attached pic, I have "1 bench spot left" because Doolittle wasn't ranked in the top 400 by Grey.

So do I have a chance to not be terrible? Any advice welcomed.

Thanks.

That's what it looks like to me as well. Hitting is solid but SP seems a little light. As for standings, so much will happen and the WW can always change were you will land.

Thanks Mauddib.

I have been able to cobble my pitching together before off the waiver wire, so here's hoping for continued success on that front.
