Once more, for good measure.

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Once more, for good measure.

Postby royce! » Sun Mar 24, 2013 8:12 pm

I started playing in this league in 2007 (the same year I discovered Razzball, probably from googling "fantasy baseball blog," or perhaps something about "wang"), and still haven't won it. Lost in the finals the first year, and aas in first for almost the entire year last season, only to be eliminated in the first round of the playoffs thanks to Braun, Bruce, Fielder, and everyone else on my team taking the week off. So apparently I need even more help than I've been asking for.

Anyhow, team's in the signature. As I mentioned before, brother-in-law dropped Gee after I drafted him for him...I'm on the fence about dropping Luebke for Gee. Maybe Hammel? I know you're high on both, as am I (had both last year for their good times)...

I think you are ok. Your SP doesn't have the Ace I generally like to have but I think you have some decent depth which should help make up for that. I think I would stick with what you have and leave Gee on the WW.

Been in first and second so far thanks to some great pitching and owning Miggy and Ajax.

My brother in law's team has been sporadic; for some reason, he either kills on offense and sucks on pitching or the reverse. Generally, his offense has been great (has 20 HR and 51 RBI this week), thanks to my drafting guys like Upton and Marte for him. I was thinking that since my pitching has been pretty solid, I could move a pitcher for a power bat from him. I could easily fleece him, so was looking for advice on what would be considered fair.

His team:

C-Napoli
1B- Pujols
2B- Kipnis
3B- Sandoval
SS- Crawford
IF- Freeman
OF- Upton
OF- Marte
OF- Trumbo
OF- Morse
UTIL- Buck
BN- Adrubal
BN- Middlebrooks
BN- Rasmus
DL- Granderson

SP- Felix
SP- Fister
RP- Reed
RP- Henderson
RP- Tazawa
RP- Valverde
P- Hellickson
P- Bailey
P- Quintana
BN- Madson
BN- E. Jackson
BN- Corbin
DL- Fujikawa

First, for a 14 team h2h, do you think that he needs a SP upgrade? Or should he just roll with what he's got?

If he could use an upgrade, I am interested in Marte, Trumbo, and Morse, in that order. I was thinking of a two for two, with each giving a SP and an OF, where I get an upgrade at OF and he an upgrade at SP. Would something like Ethier and Ryu for Trumbo and Hellickson be fair?

Or, I could just trade a SP for an OF...are any of my SP outside of Peavy or Zimmermann worth Trumbo or Marte?

Sorry for such a long query...I don't want to screw over my brother in law, and since I drafted most of his team and have been advising him on whom to pick up, bettering his team, I am invested in his doing well, which makes for harder decisions...

Forget it. Hammel and Estrada's performances along with Peavy's injury made me realize that I don't, actually, have pitching to spare...
