Last year, I was very excited heading into the season cuz I had a crop of talented young players but they mostly stunk (Jennings, Lawrie, Hosmer) but I had a strong draft and finished 2nd.
This year, I am feeling kinda crappy cuz I am not excited about my keepers and I am having a weak draft so far I think. I generally end up with strong pitching teams but my rotation this year is underwhelming to say the least (I didn’t keep Sale or Latos and they were drafted before my first pick even came up).
So how bad is this? Salvageable with some early WW pickups?
Through 18 rounds so far of a slow draft. 16 teams 6x6 (regular 5x5 plus OBP and HLD) keeper.
C-Salvador Perez 1B-Goldie 2B-B Phillips SS-Andrelton Simmons 3B-Headley/Lawrie LF-Soriano CF-BJ Upton RF-Stanton
SP: Samardizja, Ryu, Lester, Tim Hudson, Cahill RP: Romo, Perkins, Sergio Santos, David Hernandez

I was hoping to be able to tell you other wise but then I saw your pitching staff and that is going to be rough. Could easily turn things around still but you will need to be the first on WW pickups. Hopefully you can land a Lance Lynn type that started off hot like last year. Plenty of opportunity because your hitting is pretty solid.

Ironically, my pitching may end up stronger than my pitching.
I am pretty sure Samardzija and Lester will be pretty good. I added Teheran late. Cahill's only 25 and his K numbers this spring were great. Ryu settled down after a rough start and probably should be an ok #5 guy at least.
My offense with Headley and Lawrie right off the bat is likely gonna be a bottom feeder.
