Franny Liriano

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Where can I get the most up to date information on this guy?

I picked him up today. Hoping he's got his control and ready to go in a week.

We can't expect 2006, what can be expected?

what kind of info are you looking for? baseball reference has a pretty thorough stats page for him...http://www.baseball-reference.com/l/liriafr01.shtml

there's a link to his minor league stats in there somewhere.

my Q re: liriano: is he worth dropping either beltre, kelly johnson, or howie kendrick for? i've got brian roberts at 2B now, and wright at 3B.

Francisco Liriano fanned seven while allowing one run in six innings Tuesday for Triple-A Rochester.

Another fine effort. It marked the fifth time in six starts that he walked just one batter. He's 2-1 with a 3.35 ERA, 42 H and 41/15 K/BB in 51 innings since being sent down. In his last three outings, he's struck out 21 in 18 1/3 innings.

This just in.....

Jun 16 The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle's Matt Weinstein reports Minnesota Twins SP Francisco Liriano allowed two runs on five hits, no walks and struck out five in seven innings to get the win at Triple-A Rochester Sunday, June 15. He hasn't lost in six starts.

It can't be long now. Loving the control he's had in his AAA starts.

Jun 20 Liriano gave up five runs over five innings with seven strikeouts and one walk in Friday's loss for Triple-A Rochester. He gave up two home runs.
Recommendation: There has been talk that Liriano could be called up in the next few weeks, but this outing will likely cool that speculation. Still, his strikeout numbers continue to climb and his control is good, which was his problem earlier in the season. The Twins may also wait to call Liriano up until at least mid-July to avoid him qualifying for arbitration at the end of the year.
