I need to make a final decision on 15 keepers in a couple of weeks. I will wait to to see how the preseason plays out but I am looking for some initial advice.

Here is my primary list:

1. Trout - OF
2. McCutcheon - OF
3. Stanton - OF
4. Harper - OF
5. Beltre - 3B
6. Tulowitzki - SS
7. Strasburg - SP
8. C. Lee - SP
9. G. Gonzalez - SP
10. A. Chapman - SP
11. A. Wainwright - SP
12. C. Sale - SP
13. M. Moore - SP
14. E. Hosmer - 1B
15. J. Kipnis - 2B

Outside looking in:

A. Rizzo - 1B (I'm just higher on Hosmer)
K. Medlen - SP (As much as I like him I don't think I have room for him)
S. Perez - C (I really like Perez but there will be enough catcher depth in a 1-catcher 12-team mixed league)
M. Moustakas - 3B (I just don't have room for him)
D. Haren - SP (Here in name only)

YOUR THOUGHTS?

I think you have the right group. You have some tough guys to lose but they just aren't good enough to bump anyone else off. Very solid keeper list.

I'd consider dumping chapman for either rizzo or medlen..Team is stacked regardless but he probably will have some inning limit issues...

Thanks...re: Chapman...I agree...he's probably more of a risk on a number of fronts...I just know a few guys in my league really wanted him last year (as a closer)...I'll likely keep him due to his upside and try to trade him...maybe I'll get to pick up Medlen in the first round.

I do like Rizzo...just like Hosmer more...I'll likely try to land a guy like Ike Davis, assuming Rizzo is not available by the time I make my first pick.

I'd appreciate any other insight from anyone else too.

Grey...wouldn't mind your analysis when you get a chance...have to pick keepers by next week...I know you are not big on Kipnis...but I think I gotta take a chance on him...what are the odds of Hosmer slumping...I would prefer not to keep both Hosmer and Rizzo...going all in on Hosmer.

Your 15 look good.
I like Rizzo a lot myself.
I would keep him, and drop Sale if it were my team.
Sale is good, but had the highest innings jump of any pitcher last year by a lot.
He is a candidate for regression imo, and a injury risk as well.

thanks for the advice...from what I read Grey isn't high on Sale this year...I might do that but still have a few days to decide...between hosmer and rizzo, one of them's gotz-ta pan out. ;o)

Anyone's thoughts on whether Gio faces a ban and/or regresses in his performance...due to the links with the Biogenesis HGH scandal? Looks like Gio just bought some "over the counter" stuff from this firm and there shouldn't be any risks...but perhaps MLB will find out more.

Should I keep Rizzo and Sale and drop Gio???

C'mon how could you not want a guy named Gio on your team (says the guy in the room who once owned Melky?...not me of course)
