Please to help with keepers?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Please to help with keepers?

Postby shitbird » Fri Feb 08, 2013 9:18 am

Clean yes, germ no.
Not sure why I'm talking like an eastern european cleaning lady but my team last year performed as if it was drafted by Pirini Scleroso http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OaYZCYAOfc

I get to keep 6 of the following in an AL-only 5x5 Roto league. The number next to the names is the draft round I give up.

I'm thinking of keeping:
Holland 12
Hosmer 17
Perkins 17
Kipnis 22
Profar 22
Straily 24

I'm also considering Olt and Asrubal.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Kelly Johnson 4
Asdrubal Cabrera 5
Gavin Floyd 6
Brent Morel 7
Miguel Olivo 9
Michael Pineda 11
Greg Holland 12
Álex Ávila 13
Tommy Milone 14
Luke Scott 15
Eric Hosmer 17
Glen Perkins 17
Martín Pérez 20
Manny Ramírez 21
Jason Kipnis 22
Jurickson Profar 22
Anthony Gose 23
Nick Castellanos 24
Andy Dirks 24
Travis Hafner 24
Mike Olt 24
Jake Arrieta 24
Daniel Straily 24

Forget Holland and Perkins. Their draft values are way lower than the picks you would give up.

Hosmer and Kipnis are musts. I have no problem with you keeping Profar and Straily at 22 and 24, respectively.

Why keep Olt at 24 if you can draft a better prospect at that spot? Really depends on which players are projected to be available in that round.

No to Asdrubal, as well.

I was hesitant to keep Holland and Perkins but my other options are sort of lousy. I also think that as dedicated closers in an AL-only leauge Holland and Perkins will go earlier than the rounds I could keep them at.

Last year's twelth round looked like this:
Alexi Casilla
Desmond Jennings (was kept)
Víctor Martínez (was out for season when drafted)
A.J. Pierzynski
Addison Reed
Cliff Pennington
Aaron Crow
Adam Lind (was kept)
Danny Valencia
Delmon Young (was kept)

Okay, well who would be available at that 12th round?

Holland, Hosmer, Profar, Kipnis, Perkins and Asrubal.

I think Asdrubal has decent value at this spot. SS aren't going to be easy to find and he is a solid option. Unless you think there will be better talent at that spot at the draft but with 6 keepers, I'm not sure there will be.
