middle- and late-round keepers

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

middle- and late-round keepers

Postby Enrique » Thu Nov 01, 2012 1:46 am

Hello Grey, Razzballers,

Please help here ... I'm new to keeper leagues.

I'm in a 14-team league that allows two keepers drafted last year only in the 5th round or later with a penalty of one round. Undrafted players cost a 12th round pick (barring anyone from the first four rounds removes most of the obvious keepers). I picked up Victor Martinez and Middlebrooks off waivers in the last couple of weeks as potential keepers. Here are the 6 players I see as potential keepers:

Victor Martinez (costs a 12th-round pick)
Middlebrooks (12th round)
Lucroy (19th round)
Shave Victorino (4th)
Michael Morse (4th)
Medlen (12th)

I wouldn't want to keep both Victorino and Morse, since if I have two players from the same round the second one costs one around higher, so in this case it'd be a 4th and a 3rd round pick. But I'm guess they aren't the best choices anyway. I can only pick two but please rank the top three bargains given the round they're available in.

Thanks everyone!

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I would go Vmart and Medlen. I think Middlebrooks is next but I hate the sophomores. Bet he slumps next year and is a great deal the following.
