who to bench, who to start?

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

who to bench, who to start?

Postby Hebrew Hammer » Sat May 16, 2009 4:45 pm

12 team mixed, 5x5 roto league

have to decide on 9 pitchers each week.

I have 4 closers....should i just start them all?

Cordero 3 games vs. Phi, 3 vs. Cle (only closer with 6 games)
Bailey 4 at TB, 3 vs. Ariz
Downs 1 vs. CWS, 3 at Bos, 3 at Atl
Hoffman 1 vs. StL, 3 at Hou, 3 at Min

my starting options are as follows
Lincecum at SD (Correia)
Slowey vs. Mil (Suppan)
Bush at StL (Pineiro), at Min (Baker)
Wainwright vs. KC (Davies)
Nolasco vs. Ariz (Haren), vs. TB (Niemann)
Jd Weaver at LAD (Milton)

basically, i have to bench one pitcher.

I hate Bush on the road, but he has two starts and our league counts K's. We all know about Nolasco's struggles but he's at home twice and I feel a bunch of K's vs. the free swinging D-backs.
Lincecum is a lock as well as Wainwright at Busch. I love Slowey at home. Weaver is on fire right now and should not be benched.

Do I play russian roulette and pick one of the 4 closers to bench?
Do I bench Nolasco cause he has sucked? Do I bench Bush cause he's on the road?

I hate to do either because they both are my only two start options.

Basically, i'm torn.
what do you think?

Do

CORRECTION:

Bush's first start next week is at Houston against Mike Hampton.

Pick 9 to start or 1 to bench.

no max...

just have to hit 1,000 innings for the season for a minimum.

I'd start Cordero, Downs and Hoffman for relievers. For starters, I'd start Lincecum, Slowey, Wainwright, Weaver, Nolasco and Bush. Bench Bailey.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.
