Ian Stewart

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Ian Stewart

Postby Curly Day » Thu Apr 23, 2009 4:37 pm

What is exactly the deal with Ian Stewart? In league A I drafted him near last and he is my util player with Maybin sitting on the bench. I'm considering dropping him there or Travis Snider and pick up a closer in waiting. Should I hold?

In league B I need someone to keep A-Rod's seat warm and have Scutaro doing it now. I want to drop him and am considering picking up Stewart or some other hot CI. While doing well, he doesn't seem to be getting enough playing time. Is this going to change?

if you're in 12 team leagues - get stewart on your team.

they are using him all over right now to get him playing time. 2nd, 3rd, OF - you name it.

With old man Helton about due for a back injury, S.Smith struggling in the OF and Aktin's name always in trade rumours - I think that within the month, Stewart will be a fulltime player and will be a great mix league player to own.

In league A where I have him, it is a 12 team league - so I guess hold there. But in the other its a ten and like I said - warming up the spot until A-Rod returns. I need average and some pickup options are C Guillen, Rollen, Blalock, Fields, P Feliz, or Casey Blake. Is Stewart still the best option?

I think so. But I hate old guys like Guillen and Rolen.

He's qualifies at 2nd,3rd and soon OF - I can't believe you wouldn't have a nice spot on your bench for someone so versitile....must have a very shallow bench.

I have Milton Bradley and Felipe Lopez on the bench, which I usually stack with RP's who have the potential of getting a save. It's ESPN so Stewart only qualifies at 3B right now.

You guys think it'd be worth it to drop Kendrick and pick up Stewart? I've been getting my ass handed to me in HRs and RBIs but dominating in BA, Hs, and Rs. Is Stewart just playing his ass off right now to earn a fulltime spot, liable to experience a heartbreaking correction period in the meat of the season? Kendrick has been slumping as of late, and we can always look forward to his annual DL stint.

I think you should trade Kendrick - people think very highly of his potential, you just have to find the one that thinks more highly of him than you do. I just traded him in a big 8 player deal, but basically getting Cano in return.
