Hey guys! I can someone give me some draft strategy advice?
my 12 team league H2H points league. the points structure heavily stresses having good starting pitchers (+3 per inning, +10 win, -5 loss, +1 k, -1 per walk, -1 hit) . A typical QS win will give 30+pts (what a batter gets in ~10 games).
We get up to 6 keepers. you get to keep them in rounds 1-6… to be honest, i feel like my team’s pretty stacked.. on the team, the ones worth keeping are
Trout Cano bautista longoria
Lee Darvish Chapman Cueto
craig rizzo castro morrow harvey
I would keep trout, cano, bautista, longo, darvish and lee from that list… i’d go more if I could. A lot of players in the leauge will be keeping 6… this means the draft will move very fast through the first few rounds as the best players are mostly going to be locked up, and only the teams with shit players will be drafting.
i have an offer to trade Lee for round 5 and round 6 draft picks. another offer i have is cueto for a round 4 draft pick
if i trade lee, then i would then keep chapman and use those picks to grab craig and cueto…or rizzo? i was thinking maybe castro, but maybe its better to punt ss. i’d come out of round 6 with trout, longo, bautista, cano, chapman, darvish, cueto and craig.
otherwise, i’d trade cueto and choose chapman in the 4th round? (giving me trout, longo, bautista, cano, chapman, lee, darvish at the end of round 6)
I know Lee’s gonna pitch better than cueto, but i kind of view the first trade as sacrificing lee to keep a larger young core haha. am i stupid to think this is a solid strategy?
