Upgrade pitching

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Upgrade pitching

Postby VtPistonsFan » Fri Apr 17, 2009 4:33 am

I'm trying to get a better starting pitcher. I'm weak right now. I have Soria and Wilson as my closers. I also have Chris Ray . I was thinking of offering Wilson out for trade. Who are a few pitchers I might be able to get for him? My hitting is on fire and is carring my team . I really think I can afford to give up one closer. I also think Ray will take over in Baltimore. Your thoughts?

Ray's pretty far away from those duties. Maybe by June/July at the earliest. Wilson could snag a 2nd to third starter. Think Young, Danks or Wainwright.

Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

I'm starting some talk with the manger that owns, Scherzer, Volstad and Wainwright.Your thoughts on which one would be a good fit. This would be for Brian Wilson. My starters now are. Shields, Verlander. Jurrijens, Wolf, Buhrele nd Cahill. My closers are Soria and Wilson. I think I can move a closer as long as I'm still getting stats from one. Any the possiblitiy of Ray closing down the road.

I got a note back from the other manager. He said he would be interested if I would take Kevin Slowey or Johnny Cueto. Told him I wasn't interested in either. Both are too inconsistant for me to give up a solid second closer.
I have no problems hanging on to Ray until June- July. If I make a move for Wilson I'll still have Soria and will get some saves. Ray will just be a bonus if he closes later.

I prefer Slowey to Lilly.

I would get rid of Verlander and your closer and try and land 2 of Slowey/Cueto/Wainwright.
Verlander is on a CRAZY streak and its definetly going to end soon. Sell him while he is hot, I really dont see him have a better season than any pitcher mentioned. (think Buhrle with .3 higher ERA and less wins)
My Random Prediction This Year -> JP Arencibia for AL ROTY

You are a bout three starts too late. I traded Verlander and Travis Snider fo Zeigler and McClouth about three weeks ago.At least I got one good player out of the deal.
