Hey Grey

How would you rank the following AL starters against Rick Porcello?

8 team, 5x5, AL Only keeper lg. that I have a shot to win this year (but also a good foundation for the next few years). I am trying to win this year while protecting the future - tricky, yup.

I'd like to grab Porcello off waivers but I would need to drop one of my SPs.

Rick Porcello - would be $1 salary

SPs on team:
Brett Anderson $1
Gavin Floyd $3 (previous keeper)
Kyle Davies $1
Phil Hughes $1
E. Santana $5 (previous keepr)
John Smoltz $1
Trevor Cahill $1

Yes I did do the Labadini plan as much as possible, fyi- only exceptions were Ervin, G.Floyd, $16 Jenks, and $18 BJ Ryan. My hitting is awesome.

Would you kindly rank (if u have a moment) my SPs - and advise the best candidate(s) to cut, if any?

Fyi- Since a keeper, lots of guys will take $1 young SP for good high salary player come July/August. 2 big NYY fans also in league, they love Hughes.

Thanks a ton for your help Grey, your site is terrific
Mike D.

Thanks for the kind words! I hate Floyd, but for $3 you can't lose him obviously. I'd go with Porcello over Davies, but they're close to a push. My reasoning for Porcello is he's much younger and has huge upside compared to Davies.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Thanks Grey.

You like Smoltz, BTW? I was thinking he might be the guy to cut before seeing your answer.

Thank you
Mike D.

He's due to return and he's been remarkable about bouncing back, so I'd like to see how he looks.
