Dropping Kawakami for Duch/Teahen

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Dropping Kawakami for Duch/Teahen

Postby tyler2 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:27 am

We've got 2 DL slots, and I'm thinking about dropping Kawakami for Duch, DL'ing him, then adding Teahen (1B, 3B, LF, RF and soon, 2B) for bench flexibility. Kawakami's not going to come in and destroy the NL East, right?

12 team mixed H2H, keep 6 every year. 7x6 (AVG, HR, R, RBI, SB, OPS, hitter K's; W, L, SV, ERA, WHIP, K/BB). Positional OF (LF/CF/RF).

C - Salty
1B - Fielder
2B - Polanco
3B - Wright
SS - Tejada
LF - Damon (LF/CF)
CF - Krispie
RF - Bruce (LF/CF/RF)
UT - Beltre

SP - Santana
SP - Sabathia
RP - Papelbon
RP - Soria
P - K. Wood
P - F. Francisco
P - Villanueva

BN - Randy Johnson
BN - Kuroda
BN - Kawakami
BN - Harden
BN - Wieters
BN - J. Upton (RF)

Kawakami showed how risky he can be with 7 walks. not that Duch is going to help you anymore.

Teahen could be good value @ 2nd once he gains eligibility there.
Who's afraid of Baltimore?

Agreed - this is mostly tinkering. I think Duch can be good in like two months or so, and since this is H2H, later in the season will be more important.

I'm also thinking about Ian Stewart at 2B/3B instead of Teahen...ZiPS loves Stewart, but I'm not sure he'll get PT...
