RP that qualify at SP

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

RP that qualify at SP

Postby Get Figgy With It » Sun Mar 29, 2009 4:22 pm

does anyone know which RP also qualify at SP...I'm using Yahoo...I am going to try out a new strategy that involves just starting RP and dominating 5/7 pitching categories such as L, ERA, WHIP, SV, etc.

SP - Zimmermann, Jose Fernandez, Bailey, Archer, Matt Moore, Shelby Miller, Wood
RP - Janssen, Henderson, Cishek, Ziegler, Brothers, Cisnero,
BN - Gattis

Kuo, Villanueva, Masterson, Morrow, Chan Ho Park (not sure of his role, though), Miguel Batista, Chad Gaudin.

Must be some more...

BTW - I used this strategy myself last year. It worked in that it got me to the playoffs, but I think you do need a core of really good relievers. Saves may not have no face (as it were), but I think solid ratios do. If one or two of your guys get really blasted early in the week, you can really be behind the 8-ball in terms of ERA and WHIP.

ya, there are 4 SP, 2 RP, and 2 P slots...so I may have to scrap this strategy because I can't find 4 solid RP that qualify at SP...what do you think of getting like 4 closers and then streaming SP everyday to win W, SV, K, QS

If your league rules allow it, it's worth a shot.

One caveat - you'll know from spending time at the Razz that wins are hard to predict, so streaming doesn't always guarantee you a win in that category. And with QS as a stat you'll probably need to exercise a little more quality control than normal.

Tell me what?

Kuo, Villanueva, Masterson, Morrow, Chan Ho Park (not sure of his role, though), Miguel Batista, Chad Gaudin.

Villa and Morrow - already covered ;-) I'm assuming that Figgy is up with the closer news.

Balfour is only RP-eligible, BTW.
