Keeper help

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Keeper help

Postby fitchp » Tue Mar 03, 2009 3:10 pm

Hi everyone - I'm new here......looking for some advice on keepers this year

My league allows 20 pts in keeper points, and up to 8 players. Here's what I have to choose from:

Carlos Beltran - 7 pts
Alfonso Soriano - 6 pts
Alex Rios - 6 pts
Jimmy Rollins - 5 pts
Troy Tulowitzki - 2 pts
James Shields - 2 pts
Chipper Jones - 2 pts
Zack Greinke - 1 pt
Matt Garza - 1 pt
Johnny Damon - 1 pt
Jermaine Dye - 1 pt
B.J. Ryan - 1 pt

Here's what I'm looking at right now.....any thoughts on possible changes?
Soriano (6), Rollins (5), Chipper (2), Shields (2), Tulowitzki (2), Dye (1), Greinke (1), Garza (1) = 20 pts

Thanks!

I think you have your keepers set. My biggest concern is Garza and Greinke. They were both handed a big workload last year from their previous season. They're risks. If you wanted to play it safer, I'd say lose one for Damon. If you want to freak yourself out, read this:

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Thanks Grey.....I appreciate the help! So you would definitely keep Soriano over Beltran?

For the lower price it's a bit of a tossup. Soriano has more upside, Beltran is safer, but if it means getting an extra $1 player I'd go with Soriano.
