Keeper Question involving Manny, Doumit, Victorino and Perez

Who to start, who to bench. Grab that WW guy? Low priced rookie or high priced stud?

Keeper Question involving Manny, Doumit, Victorino and Perez

Postby Roid_Rage » Wed Feb 25, 2009 12:24 pm

NL only league. I need to keep 8.

If Manny signs with the Dodgers or any other NL team I can keep him.

Now if he does sign for 2 years plus an option as the rumors are saying, will be play hard like he did last year when he joined LA?

Either way My first 6 keepers are:

Braun
Kemp
Upton
Bruce
Webb
Scherzer

Now for my last two spots I can keep either:

Manny and Chris Perez (Or Hanrahan, but I think Perez is a bit more polished)
or
Victorino and Doumit

(this is all according to their salaries from mlb.com and our cap of $140)

Which duo improves my team better? I am drafting last in my league and have the 7th and 8th overall picks which I am looking to target Fielder and Beltran (or possibly Peavy if I'm feeling saucy that day)

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Your guess is as good as mine as to how hard Manny will play. I'd go with the Victorino duo and I'd grab Fielder or Beltran with my first pick, not Peavy... You already have Webb, you don't need him.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Grey you know what, you may be right. Doumit at the catcher position can be awesome (we only have 1 slot too).

Closers are so unstable keeping 1 who doesn't have a job secured right now might not be the smartest thing to do.

If I am certain of getting Fielder and Beltran I think I won't need Manny. We contracted a couple of teams and I know the first 5 to go will be Hanley, Pujols, Wright, Reyes, Howard. The guy before me told me he's taking Pence (loves the guy and he has a weak outfield.) The added steals from Shane will help big time. I'll have him, Kemp and Beltran to swipe bags. I think i just answered my own question. Thanks Grey.
