I like Davis' power but Votto isn't that far behind plus he brings in a few more SB...thoughts in terms of keepers?

Chris Davis might hit 35 home runs in 2009, but it's going to come at a batting average price. He has the Dunn gene and could strikeout 170 times next year.

For 2009, think:

Votto: 28/95/.290/10 steals
Davis: 32/100/.260

It's close and it matters a bit what you're putting around them, but empirically I want Votto.

Really, Grey? .260? I think you'll get about the same value out of both. I think that a 26.0% K rate isn't that much different from Votto's 19.4%. Chris isn't the hacker that Dunn is, and has about the same line drive ratio that Votto has.

I think that you'll see about the same .290 out of both and as for 40 HR in Arlington for Davis, I believe.

I'll totally buy Grey a Pina Colada if I'm wrong.

Are you saying this after reading what Bill James says Davis will get in 09? Cause James has Davis as a near-MVP candidate from the numbers he projected for him. I don't think Davis has the plate discipline for .290. But let's not lose the fact that I do like Davis, just Votto a bit more.

Are you saying that it's okay to disagree with my homeboy Bill F. James?

For the record, I picked Votto in a 2007 keeper auction for $1 and still have him, so I'm keeping him over Davis who I have for $18. With all that extra cash, I'm gonna go buy me some snack foods.

I'd take Votto over Davis. However, I think they will both produce. Votto will produce better across the board. I got to see him play when he came through Chattanooga in the Reds farm system. He is the real deal. I see Votto producing .317/27/105 .

Votto all the way.
