Grey--different league here.

4x4 categories (no K's or runs scored) 260$ budget. Can keep up to 12....can also keep less if you choose. Choices are...

Troy Tulowitzki 10
Dustin Pedroia 1
Ryan Braun 10
Chase Headley 10
Grady Sizemore 39
Shane Victorino 1
Vernon Wells 27
Billy Butler 10
Matt Cain 12
Gil Meche 1
Johan Santana 27
Andy Sonnanstine 1
Javier Vazquez 3
Jeremy Guthrie 1
Joel Hanrahan 10
Brain Wilson 10

Also a follow up question; Tulo, Braun, Pedroia and Victorino are no doubters. It is also their "option year" which means this is the off-season where i have to decide if i want to sign them to a long term contract. Each year costs 5 dollars.

So for instance; if i want Braun for:

only this year: he'll cost me 10 bucks
thru 2010: 15 dollars this year, 15 the next
thru 2011: 20 this year, 20 next, 20 in 2011
thru 2012: 25 this year, 25 next, 25 in 2011, 25 in 2012

and so on...

how long would you long term Tulo, Pedroia, Braun and Victorino (or if at all)

if you decide to long term someone and then don't want to keep them down the road due to injury or ineffectiveness, the penalty is their salary x 2 to be paid out of pocket to the prize pool.

What if you say you want Braun for $10 for 2009? Can you not keep him for 2010? Or can you but there's a penalty?

If you have to decide now about 2010 and beyond for those guys, I would only long term Victorino, Pedroia and Braun. I'd go to $16 on Pedroia and go to $25 on Braun. But I would only go to $6 on Victorino. I would only keep Tulo for 2009 as of right now.

As for the other guys I'd hold onto:

Matt Cain 12
Johan Santana 27
Javier Vazquez 3
Jeremy Guthrie 1

And that's it.

So 8 players altogether.

If you want me to look at your team, post the team. Don't post a link to another site where the team is.
Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Yes if I keep Braun for 10 bucks he would automatically return to the auction in the 2010 draft.

When you draft a player you can keep him at that same salary for three consecutive years. After the second consecutive year you have to either "long-term" them or keep them at the same price for only the one more year.

Okay, so you clear on my advice then? I'd keep Braun up until $25, Victorino until $6 and Pedroia until $16 and Tulo, Cain, Santana, Guthrie and Vazquez for 2009.
