Funny thing, I was just about to ask about the relative likelihood of vulture saves, and then got one through Devine.

Don't think it could really happen in my opponent's case, however, b/c I doubt the Yankees would put Rivera in while behind, as the A's did today with Zeigler.

I like the Balfour and Jobacum play as well, partially for strategy and partially b/c it will make for good viewing next week. I'm hoping Peavy, Nolasco, Harang and Jobacum will help me take over Ks (I don't expect many from Bush or Lohse, but am hoping for IP and W from them).

is a really solid group of guys going in the last week, as if I needed to tell you that.

Have you given me all the info I need to judge your team? The number of teams in the league is a good start for the big overall questions.
Is your league H2H? Roto?
I don't know who's on your waivers. Don't just ask me who you should pick up. Give me names to choose from.
If you only have one team, post your team in your signature with the league parameters.
I don't know every single matchup for next week, so if you want me to choose a player for the following week and you think the matchups are important, tell me who they're facing.

Well, unfortunately his last minute moves necessitated some changes causing me to bench Jobacum, but I still think that our lineups will make for at least an entertaining last week of fantasy baseball.

I'm thinking the only pitching stats he can take down (barring uncharacteristic performances) are IP, K, and maybe W, so I have high hopes, at least for my pitching.

Thanks for posting. I think the Ks are the only category you should write off.

EDIT: It's actually kind of crazy how he is beating you in so many categories but you are really close and could flip the script at any moment.

Exactly... one good day for me and a bad one for him and the score could be reversed, or at least switch to me winning... I think you're right about Ks, as well, though I don't want to give up all hope.

Wish the Sawx were facing some better pitching, though. Z Jackson, Lee, Carmona, Sowers, Aceves, Mussina and Pettitte... at least if they do well against Lee it'll hurt his pitching.

My dream ending to this week would be the Mets clinching a playoff spot Sunday by (mostly Wright and not at all Beltran) beating up on Scott Olsen. It would be nice for a good fantasy and real life event to converge.

Or, through some strange biological mutation Saunders's kidney stones become contagious and E. Santana is benched until the playoffs.

Either ending would be cool with me.

Week almost started very poorly... Hanley is back (and I started Drew instead b/c of Hanley's shoulder) and almost put Harang's first pitch in the seats.

Ugh. Then Hermida hit the second pitch in the seats. Oh well, thanks to Wilkin Castillo nonetheless.

Harang hates his fantasy baseball owners.

Well, as circuitous as it was, at least he got me a win. For a minute there I was afraid that the Reds were going to tie the game in the 7th and all Harang and Nolasco's efforts would be lost.

Now if E. Santana, Price and Miner can go 0-3, I'll be on a roll!

It's hard to write anything about the effect Peavy's start moving will have on my fantasy team. Not because its effect is unknown (it screws me) but because its cause is so much more important than fantasy baseball. But now I've gone and written about it, so whatevs... "I come to bury Caesar" and whatnot.

As far as pitching goes, I was able to remain tied through a Balfour vulture win. So the loss of one Peavy start will likely cost me IP, K (which was pretty far out of reach anyway) and most likely W. And when I attend today and Sunday's games I will be watching Wade LeBlanc or some other "prospect."

However, due to a solid offensive day (thanks, Victorino and Drew!) I'm getting closer to turning the tables.

I would think that if I were God I would be really annoyed by complicated requests. Regardless, I'm praying for the Sawx to blast Cliff Lee today, despite Youk, Pedrioa and Ortiz going 0 for like 20. Are you there God? It's me, royce!
