i am in my playoffs in an ESPN 10 team 5X5 H2H league. my opponent wasn't making roster moves for the last week, but just changed his team up last night. he has 8 closers on his roster, but only had 6 active for the first week of our two week playoff. i only have fuentes, capps, and rodney, but i did add ayala and percival prior to the playoffs. this guy's team isn't that great and i lead all offensive categories (including nasal hair...j/k, but i love that line) except HRs. so his strategy is to win SVs, era and probably whip (he has paps, krod, lidge, wood, mike gonz, bjryan, cordero, and hoffman), HRs and then hope for avg or something else.
i currently lead in R, RBI, SB by a lot, Ks by a lot and SVs. avg is practically even and i'm only down 1 HR. NOW, here is the question, i have really good starters and this guy just dumped wainright and marcum (morrow is also out there and the other two guys in the playoffs stream, so starters are available), so am i better off just jettsoning two closers (or more) to stock up on starters? the other dilemma is that i have denard span at OF and with a huge lead in Rs and SBs could add a bat with greater HR potential to compete there. but i don't want to dump him, thus need extra roster spots.
in sum, do i concede SVs and add a HR hitter to compete in HRs and also solids SPs to guarantee i take Ks, Ws, and maybe era or whip? or is there any chance of the pentacraptagon of fuentes/percy/capps/ayala/rodney (all classifiable as brain freeze, i know) competing for SVs?
its probably an easy choice, but i can't figure it out.
thanks
