Hey Grey - Trying to decide who to keep pitcher-wise going into next season. Ideally I would like to keep two but have space for three of them. I currently have:

Weaver
Lee
Wainwright
Medlen
Peavy
Minor
Kenley Jansen

My strategy is to trade Weaver for a hitter as I think he is on the out and out and keep Lee and Wainwright. Do you prefer Medlen to Wainy at this point? Also, if it came down to it, would you keep Medlen or Pence/Yadier/Laroche? Thanks!

For disclosure I threw Kenley into that mix because I am considering keeping him as I think he should be an effective save source with K's. I adjust my last question to Medlen or Pence/Yadier/Kenley/Laroche? Thanks again!

I'd want Wainright, hard to say without seeing the rest of the team...maybe yadier if you need a catcher...

I like Yadier but catchers were so oddly plentiful last year that my gut is telling me that if I drop him I'll get a fine replacement. Same goes for Medlen and pitchers too. Really hoping to make this easier by trading Weaver and someone for a keepable hitter.

I agree on both parts. I always find myself picking a catcher at the end of the draft and then streaming them throughout the season, usually going with the hot hand. Occasionally you find one that can fill the spot all season. At draft time there is always someone else I would rather have so I never seem to make that move.

SP has been deep for a while now and I don't see that changing in the near future. Medlin had a great year but I won't be buying into it. I have seen way too many pitchers follow up a really good first year with a not so good second year. I am kind of surprised at where I have seen him ranked, over guys with better and longer track records.

Your keepers are solid and I wouldn't take either Molina or Medlin over any of those guys.
