@Grey: Was the NRL Grand Final – kind of like the Super Bowl for Rugby League, which is a sport similar to rugby, but with different rules (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Rugby_League).

Even better, the NZ team had made the Grand Final. The game wasn’t the reason I went (was visiting my sister who lives in Sydney), but manged to get some tickets to the game. Never been in a crowd of 90,000 before – pretty cool.

I didn’t hear that, but the Giants have pretty consistently been in the rumor mix for Coco if he doesn’t resign with the A’s during the “exclusive negotiating” widow. I’d like to see Coco back, but not if it means they won’t sign The Hammer.

@royce: I remember we exchanged emails after the draft but before the season started. I remember you fretting about your draft, and saying something like Grey wouldn’t have approved and how much better Porkburn did. As I believed I mentioned to you at that time, I told you you did fine, and that your in season management was going to make or break you (that sounds like a humble brag about how smart I am anticipating how good you were going to do).

Sadly, for the rest of us, you crushed us with your excellent work. Anyway, I’m really glad you’re in, I salute you, and look forward to next year.

@chata: The leagues would be a mess if we didn't remove "good" players. @royce!: Congrats! Yeah, that's a lot of terrible draft picks. Sometimes that makes things easier to move onto a hot hand that turns into a Lawrie or Jennings.
