Max, when you next have occasion to communicate with Grey, well, bring up the part about dining on your words. Here that would be Grey’s Adam Dunn vanishes into oblivion like Boog Powell. The Dunnster (not dumpster) decided to “vanish” to the tune of 9 HR and 23 RBI.

before he signed , i had him as a cy young candidate .
somewhere in the forums , i predicted that the jays would win
the A.L. East … IF they signed him (ok , so i may have over-evaluated
their offense) , but the thing is …. with an import like YU , you can discount him for “cultural” adjustments , but his track record speaks volumes and shows a pattern of success .

the trouble is , that unless you were a believer from the start , or willing to
take a “flyer” , talent like Yu will never appear on your roster , unless you
concentrate on re-draft leagues , in which case you have the luxury , like Grey , of being able to re-evaluate on a yearly basis .

nice that you’re willing to expose your inner thoughts (dirty laundry ?) .
obviously , you’re “comfortable in your own skin” .

looking forward to more articles from you …. particularly after the season ends .
i find the combination of year-end evaluation and new-year speculation to be quite revealing , and is , perhaps , the most exciting time of the year
for player and self-analysis .
