@BigFatHippo: Christmas is the biggie for us – family and food in abundance, at least in my clan.
Plus it’s the time everyone takes their annual holidays as it’s the summertime – although the weather is often better (where I live anyway) later in January and into February.
Where you guys essentially have two national-type holidays (4th July and Thanksgiving) we just have one – Waitangi Day on Feb 6.
No special food – just a day off!
