@Grey: for the util spot, Chris Davis is against LHP Glen Perkins @Min, and Cano is going against LHP Greg Smith at Yankee stadium. Both lefty bats against lefty arms. Which would you start? I am leaning towards Cano, but i don’t know why.

I agree… However, I would venture that he would be a different guy with a big club. Complacent maybe?? I actually think he likes being an underdog with a small budget so he can flip-off everyone else with $$$.

Last thing on Eveland… If you had him all year as a 5th arm on your fantasy team, this is what you would have so far.

That WHIP will come down between now and next July.
He is a huge sleeper next year. IMO of course.

Very similar stuff and similar pitchers. Both bulldogs.. Fastball sets up the change. Breaking ball can be filthy when the fastball is not all over the place. First inning was always a problem for Marcum ’cause he overthrew. Then he settles by not overthowing his fastball… Beane knew what he was doing on Smith and Eveland, trust me…

Here’s some interesting numbers.

Shaun Marcum 47.4GB% 8.7K/G 2.64ERA
Dana Eveland 47.2GB% 6.8K/G 2.90ERA

@Grey: I talked to a scout who was at the game and he said his change was jumping all over the place. Nice thing about Marcum (which never occured to me before), he's a fastball/change guy. Easy on the elbow.

@BSA: I had Edwin, Dunn and Delgado on one team. Yeehaw! @Denys: @IowaCubs: He has solid get 'em out pitches that he doesn't control very well. Hey, that sounds Volquez! I think he's absolutely worth a shot, but I'm not sure he'll be worthwhile. He had major bumps even in the minors. But the last jump for pitchers could mean he fools batters the first time around the league, which is kinda all you need in the 2nd half.

His numbers don’t look terrible, but not fantastic. I posted some of them on the Razzball forum. I don’t know how to measure MLE, so not sure how these numbers translate… Does anyone know a good site for that, or else, how to measure ML equivilents?

Let’s start with a quiz
Last week I tried to work a trade with a guy who picked up Hoffman. Saito got hurt. I dropped him and picked up Broxton to keep control of closers in my league and keep the value high. He didn’t want to do any trades I proposed. This morning I woke up and saw he dropped Hoffman and picking up Saito.
Any idea what place he is in and how many wins he has?
