@Mike M: I think the Indians gave up what the Tigers weren't willing. Personally, I like Alex White over Porcello. Beyond White and Pomeranz, the Indians didn't lose much in the way of prospects. The price they paid was close to market rate. More concerning is the price the market placed on a 1/2 season of Ubaldo's performance. Only time will tell if they over paid. Personally, I don't think you give up Pomeranz for Ubaldo.

I thought that the Rockies were nuts asking for Porcello & Turner for Jimenez, as it turns out they got close to that from the Indians. I believe the Indians way overpaid, your thoughts?

@Eddy: They are of similar age, however, Kershaw has been in the majors for several years at this point. Subsequently, the comparison is lacking in a few key spots. Statistically they are similar. I could see a lesser Kershaw, an AJ Burnett, or Cole Hamels. Those are all the upside comps.

You said he's no Kershaw. Wondering whom would you compare him to?

@Chris: re: Hamilton: I was thinking the same. If he had Jacoby Elsbury type upside sure. I just am not sold on him hitting for high average yet. Good thing age is on his side.

From the trade rumors blurbs, I would also have expected Hamilton to be a lot more impressive than this. If Michael Bourn is your best case scenario comp, you should not be untouchable.

Excited to see Pomeranz next year though. A "wicked-ass" knuckle curve, I am intrigued... He just better not be another AJ Burnett.
