Adam Wainwright ($10,500) pitches in Chicago today against a Cubs offense that has the third-worst strikeout percentage in baseball. The Cubs also own a wRC+ of 86, which is good for 28th in MLB. For a price under $11K, Wainwright makes the best play given how few legit aces will be taking the mound. Weather could be an issue for a lot of games today, including this one. While a rain shortened Wainwright is still better than nothing, we obviously want a full game out of our starters for DraftKings play. The Stream-o-Nator likes this start to the tune of $18. It’s second only to Mike Minor‘s start against the Padres, but for the first time in a while I’m not recommending we throw somebody against the Padres. It’s just tough to trust Minor right now in a one-shot deal like DFS.

Vidal Nuno, SP: $5,500 – The Phillies sit in the bottom third of the majors for both wRC+ and K% against left-handed pitching. This is a great value at under $6K and could pay off big. Stream-o-Nator really likes this start as well, hanging a $13 value on it where an “average” start is around $8.

Carlos Santana, 3B/C: $5,000 – Why mess with a good thing? Santana is on quite a roll, slashing .317/.432/.637 over his last ten games. The switch-hitter has posted better numbers against lefties and on the road. He’ll face left-hander Bruce Chen today. Ride the hot streak.

Josh Rutledge, SS: $4,200 – Rutledge is filling in for the injured Troy Tulowitzki (boy, I hope I spelled that correctly because it sure would be embarrassing if I didn’t). He’s always swung the bat well and now he’s getting some consistent playing time to put that to good use. As usual, Rockies hitters are a go at home and Rutledge makes an interesting option at middle infield against Edinson Volquez.

Stephen Vogt, C/OF: $3,800 – Miles Mikolas takes on the Athletics in what could end up being a high scoring affair. Vogt will have the platoon advantage against Mikolas and I think he is one of the better values in the Oakland lineup today (assuming he’s in it). Vogt has hit over .300 in his last ten games and I don’t think Mikolas solves him.

TOR@NYY, ARI@PHI, STL@CHC, and PIT@COL all call for a 30% chance of storms. The big threat is WAS@CIN with a 60% chance of storms. It’s the most eventful Sunday weather-wise that we’ve had all year.
