So many times the so-called experts give you the names and the numbers, but you never really know how the ‘perts are doing in their DFS play. Well, my unkempt Razzballers, you’re humble-but-nonetheless-handsome Guru will share with you my results all season long. Will my winnings enable me to spend the winter in Cancun or will I go bust and be left turbanless and living under the bridge? We shall see. So far we’re looking at sand and sunshine. I’ve been in the money in 45 of 65 DraftKings contests. I’ll admit I don’t bet big. (A good tip: never wager more than 10% of your bankroll in any given day.) I also play mainly 50-50s/double-ups and head-to-heads where the odds of cashing are much better. It’s a good way to build a bankroll in the early going.  I also use a couple different philosophies when playing DFS. 1) Ace and stack philosophy: One or two teams featuring the days best pitcher and a stack of players from teams that’ll score a lot. I used Jose Fernandez and a stack of Tigers last night. It cashed. 2) Stream-a-tron philosophy: I use Razzball’s Stream-o-nator and Hitter-tron to construct a team consisting of the two best pitchers along with hitters the ‘tron projects to produce that also fit under my budget. This may not win a tourney, but it cashes out in 50/50’s at a pretty good rate. Yesterday the Stream and the ‘tron liked David Price and Hyun-Jin Ryu along with Buster Posey, Miguel Cabrera and Hunter Pence. Not sure how this worked, but as of this writing I’m 27th out of 140 players. That’s one step closer to umbrella drinks and me showing off my tan lines.

With the rambling out of the way, don’t forget to join the DraftKings Sweet Spot challenge and we could frolic on the beach together with our thongs filled with $400,000 in cash. If you’re new to the game, keep in mind DraftKings virgins get a free $2 ticket.

Alrighty my Razzballers, here’s your dirty turbaned Guru’s lineup for Wednesday’s 4/23 contests on DraftKings for 2014 Fantasy Baseball. Remember to check the lineups and the Doppler radar. Don’t get left with a big fat zero. Good luck.

Michael Wacha, SP: $11,200 – Wacha is the Stream-O-Nators’ fourth best pitcher on the board tonight. While he may be a bit pricey, we’re willing to spend for this matchup as Wacha gets a Mets team that is second in baseball with 186 strikeouts.

Alfredo Simon, SP: $9,300 – Looking for some value here with the price high and our confidence low in the other options like Kyle Loshe and Michael Pineada. Simon’s hot streak won’t last, but we’ll roll him out tonight against a struggling Pirates offense in a pitchers park.

Jose Molina, C: $1,800 – Punting catcher in this particular lineup. Make sure Molina is at least in tonight’s lineup. Other possible punts include Tim Federwicz of the Dodgers. If we get four points from catcher tonight that’ll work.

Victor Martinez, 1B: $4,200 – The first piece of our Tigers stack. Detroit gets dinner with Andre Rienzo making his first start of the year. Vegas has the Tigers favored big, the over is 8 ½ runs and the wind is blowing out to right in Detroit.

Ian Kinsler, 2B: $5,600 – Dropping some big bucks here, but it worked last night as Kinsler had a couple of hits, two runs scored and two RBI.

Miguel Cabrera, 3B: $5,100 – The Miggy slump is over.

Ryan Flaherty, SS: $2,600 – Punt play, but love for a guy that played high school ball in Portland. If he gets two hits he’ll be enshrined in the Maine Baseball Hall of Fame along with Billy Swift, Mike Bordick and Chummy Gray (look him up).

Rajai Davis, OF: $4,400 – Another piece in our Tigers stack attack. Davis hits at the top of the order and is always a threat to steal and score. His 12 FPTS last night put us in the money.

Will Venable, OF: $3,100 – The Hitter-tron likes Venable. I won’t argue because last time I did he took advantage of my toaster oven. Hey, get off her! That’s where I make my Hot Pockets!

Ichiro Suzuki, OF: $2,700 – While Ichiro is just 10/39 off John Lackey and 112 years-old the price is right in a game at Fenway where runs will be scored.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Weather is looking good in the late games across the league. Slight chance of showers in Boston and the wind is blowing out to right in Detroit.

Doing Lines in Vegas

COL vs. SF at 10 ½ leads the way and I’ll have another team consisting of Giants and Rockies.

DET vs. CHW checks in with an over of 8 1/2.

TOR vs. BAL is currently +9 with the Jays favored. A Toronto stack could be fun.
