I know Grey already touched on the huge Starting Pitching casualties from this weekend, but man I got a swift kick in the nuts losing both Jacob deGrom and Carlos Carrasco for the year, so please forgive me as my wounds are still fresh.  I had a ton of stock in Mets pitching this year, I was drafting Thor, deGrom and Steven Matz where ever I could thinking that they would have monster second halves in the weaker NL East, propelling me to multiple Championships through the dog days of the season.  We had a few bumps in the road, but for the most part things were clicking, when Thor was off, deGrom was on, when deGrom was off then Matz was on and so on.  Things were touch and go there for a few weeks as Noah looked like he was going to hit the DL around the All Star break, Matz was battling the elbow spurs and deGrom was steady, but not dominate.  Then the wheels just fell off, everything went to Shizz and now here we are with Thor being the last man standing in the Mets rotation.  I would like to initiate an investigation into the cause of bone spurs in the elbows of Mets pitchers, there’s has to be an alternate explanation as to why every single guy in that rotation is dealing with similar ailments.  I know that there’s certain Pizzeria’s here in LA that will fly in NY water to make an authentic New York pie, so if we shipped water from the Beartooth Mountains in Wyoming to the Mets clubhouse would that solve the problem?  Do we need to start a Go Fund Me page so we don’t lose our stud Mets pitchers to the bone spurred infected New York drinking water? Enough conspiracy theories for today, but I wanted to document it just in case it becomes a “thing” like #JonSnowIsWinter.  Noah Syndergaard, $11,600 has a great home matchup vs the Braves tonight and he is back to swinging around his hammer full of K’s with authority.  Over his last six games he’s 4-1 with a 1.37 ERA while racking up 42 Ks in 39.2 innings of work, yep I’d say he’s finishing the season strong.  With Madison Bumgarner, $12,600 and Clayton Kershaw, $12,600 facing off I think the majority of people will be rostering Madbum due to the Dodgers awful numbers versus LHP.  Now that we got Thor locked in, let’s take a look at the rest of the ideal matchups for our DK dominance.

Madison Bumgarner, SP $12,600 – The Dodgers struggles against LHP is well documented and it’s only going to get worse tonight against Madbum.  The Doyers are a league worst .212/.331/.622 vs LHP and they’ve only scored 131 runs in 1365 to go along with 344 Ks.  I’m not expecting you to bust out your calculator in order to figure out all those stats, just know that they’re really, really bad and they’re going to get exploited tonight.

A.J. Cole, SP $7,400 – I’m pairing Thor with Cole or Walker tonight depending on how the rest of the offensive money falls into place.  There’s not a lot to choose from in the mid-tier tonight, yeah Jason Hammel, $7,700 has a great home matchup vs the Reds, but he might only go 3-4 innings now that they’ve clinched.  He’s playing for a first place team in a pitchers park and he has 31 Ks over his first 28.2 innings as a major leaguer.  Just be sure to keep your eye on that weird guy that’s been creeping around your drink all night and we’ll be good.

Taijuan Walker, SP $8,100 – He was superb in his last outing, CG, SHO with 11 Ks and that’s got me a little gun shy.  I’m not too worried about the matchup vs the Blue Jays, because according to their manager they’ve hit rock bottom.  If we were playing for friends I’d offer their offense a hand to help, but this is DK and we kick them when their down, now go to sleep Blue Jays.

Welington Castillo, C $3,600 – We’re not going to punt today as the Beef is Back!  He’s been heating up with 5 Rs/2 HRs/6 RBI over his last 6 games and he has a solid matchup vs Paul Clemens tonight.

Albert Pujols, 1B $4,300 – He was on fire there for a while and then he went 10 games without a bomb.  He hit one on Saturday and I have a feeling that another big push is coming on to close out the season for El Machine.

James Loney, 1B $3,200 – BVP Special of the night, he’s 4/4 with a bomb and 3 RBI.  Loney has certain guys that he rakes against and Aaron Blair is fresh of the DL for tonight’s start, I’ll take the discount so I can spend my money at other positions.

Joey Wendle, 2B $2,600 – Joey Bag of Donuts has been swinging a hot bat since call ups.  Over his last six starts he’s collected 4 multi hit games going  11/29 with 6 Rs/HR/4 RBI/1 SB.

Jake Lamb, 3B $4,700 – I just noticed I’m rostering three J’s in a row, that must be a good sign.  Our favorite Tri-Lamb had a great run of Monday HR’s for about two months and then Mary took him to school and he lost his swing.  Thankfully he’s BAAAAAAHHHK now and he’s got a great matchup tonight.

Kris Bryant, 3B/OF $4,800 – Oh please, please, please Uncle Joe don’t sit him tonight!  His matchup vs Dan Straily, BVP of 4/7 with 2 HRs and 6 RBI might be just as dreamy has his beautiful deep blue eyes.

J.J. Hardy, SS $3,100 – I know Rick Porcello has been great this year, but I heard a little rumor that the Regression Fairies are making a stop in Camden Yards tonight.  It’s Bombs away for Baltimore tonight.

Trea Turner, 2B/OF $5,500 – Twin Turbo is coming off a monster series in Atlanta where he went 8/12 with 7 Rs/3 HRs/4 RBI/3 SB.  Yeah, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Turner the Burner was the missing piece they needed for the playoffs.

Brandon Drury, 3B/OF $4,300 – If I’m not picking on Padres hitting I’m going after their pitching.  The Desert Pirate has 4 bombs over his last games and he went 4/5 yesterday, get hot, stay hot!

Nelson Cruz, OF $4,100 – The Boom Stick is heating up and like El Machine I think he’s going to make a strong push to finish the season.  Marco Estrada you’ve been warned.

Randal Grichuk, OF $3,600 – This a sneaky play tonight, especially with Coors in play.  I’m sure you already knew, but just in case you didn’t Coors is in play tonight.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Shizz just got real on the weather front, our main attraction Thor may have some rain to contend with tonight.  Be sure to monitor the situation closely as the forecast’s currently look like this:

BOS vs BAL 80% chance of rain

ATL vs NYM 75% chance of thunder storms

The ARI vs SD and SF vs LAD are showing a 25% chance, but it was 95 degrees here today and I don’t see any rain interrupting these games.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Thor is leading the pack tonight at -255 followed by Hammel and the Cubs -225.  As usual Coors has the lead on the highest scoring game 11.5 o/u followed closely by LAA vs TEX 10.5 o/u.  I only featured Pujols in that matchup, so there might be a lot of meat on the bone to go after.
