Giancarlo Stanton ($5,800) is locked in to start the season, hitting .329 with six homers and 26 runs batted in. He’s taking his walks as well, but when the young slugger gets a pitch to hit, he’s not missing. Hitter-Tron is liking him to the tune of $40 for this Easter Sunday / four-twenty festivus for the rest of us. Where did we hide the Easter baskets, guys? Nobody can remember, but someone ate all of the Peeps. Not cool. I’m liking Stanton today against Blake Beavan, who’s got a great name but a not-so-great arm.

Let’s crack a few Easter eggs and make a DFS omelette, shall we? As always, there are some great tools here at Razzball for daily match-ups. The Hitter-Tron and Stream-o-Nator will give you an idea of each hitter and pitcher value for the day. If you’re thinking about getting your feet wet in daily fantasy sports, sign up with our friends at DraftKings. In addition to the daily contests, there’s also a big Sweet Spot event happening that you really need to check out. Sign up via our promo and get a free ticket. Here are today’s picks…

Stephen Strasburg, SP: $11,600 –  Strasburg is the biggest ‘name’ out there today, and while his ERA isn’t pretty, he’s getting his strikeouts (33 on the year, 14+ K/9). He’s hasn’t allowed a homer in his young career against the Cardinals. Stras sits atop the Stream-o-Nator at a $17 value.

Yordano Ventura, SP: $10,000 – The young fireballer came out of the gates hot and has so far lived up to the pre-season hype. His price has slowly crept up at DK, but he’s still a good value today at home against the Twins, who are in the bottom-third of the league in slugging.

Jesse Chavez, SP: $10,700 – Chavez is another hot starter at the moment, and he’ll get the Astros at home today. He struck out nine Angels his last time out, allowing only one earned run. The Astros called up their big name prospect George Springer, but they still lead the majors in strikeout percentage and they remain a great match-up for your pitchers.

Evan Longoria, 3B: $4,800 and Wil Myers, OF: $3,000 – Lefty Vidal Nuno makes me think of a South American shampoo brand. He also makes me think of hitting. Myers started to wake up Friday night with three ribbies and Longoria has put together a couple of multi-hit games recently. Girardi said Nuno “could go 75 pitches”. Sounds like a good day to be a Rays hitter to me.

Prince Fielder, 1B: $4,600 and Leonys Martin, OF: $3,600 – Both lefty hitters draw Erik Johnson of the White Sox in Arlington. They should be able to do some damage against the right-hander, who is ranked dead last on the Stream-o-Nator. Fielder is 4-for-6 against Johnson with two home runs.

Chase Utley, 2B: $6,000 – The combination of Coors and the lefty/righty match-up make Utley a nice play today. He’s a tad hot to start the season as well, leading the majors in multi-hit games. He’s got one homer in three at bats versus Juan Nicasio.

Colorado Stack

It won’t be just the pot-heads celebrating 4/20 in Colorado today. Carlos Gonzalez ($5,900), Troy Tulowitzki ($5,800), Justin Morneau ($4,700), and Wilin Rosario ($4,400) are all in the Hitter-Tron’s top 12 for today’s game. The Rockies get a nice match-up against the artist formerly known as Fausto. Roberto Hernandez is right-handed, so lefties CarGo and Morneau can hopefully cash in. CarGo is Hitter-Tron’s fave, and it’s hard to resist the stack on hitters at Coors. The line opened at 10 so I’m not the only one who thinks there will be some runs scored.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

We’re in the clear across the board today, with only Colorado getting a chance of precipitation. It’s a 30% chance of isolated T-storms, so they’ll likely get the game in. Wind is blowing out to left at Wrigley, Miami, and KC. It’s blowing in at Arlington and DC.

Doing Lines In Vegas

Angels at Tigers (9) and Yankees at Rays (8 1/2) are my picks for today. Both picks are due to the pitching match-ups (Santiago v. Porcello and Nuno v. Ramos) as well as lineups that are always a threat to put up big numbers.
