After nearly three consecutive months of travel and boozing I think I might just be falling apart.  I have little to complain about jumping from bachelor party, to wedding, to cider launch party and returning home to the heart of wine country.  But, add in the grind of the fantasy season, nursing a pregnant wife and, well, nursing a pregnant wife and I’m all but convinced I am going to need to replace approximately 50% of my organs in the next 8 years.  It’s time to bare down and build a bit of a stack at DraftKings as the final third of the season commences and put it all on the long shot to win the Super Bowl.  Ok, not sound gambling advice, but I’m feeling like it’s all or nothing with these failing organs of mine!

Before you build your lineup today, ensure that you’ve taken a good look at the DFSBot.  Rudy’s phenomenal tool, as Mrs. Gamble calls it, cranks out the day’s best value plays and even breaks it down to expected $ per point.  As the Ombotsman has proven, the DFSBot has been a much more accurate method of ranking value than Draftkings salaries have been.

New to DraftKings? Scared of feeling like a small fish in a big pond? Well try out this 20 teamer of Razzball writers and friends to wet your DK whistle. Just remember to sign up through us before you do. It’s how we know you care!

Lance Lynn, P: $9,000 – In July, Lynn has posted a 1.75 ERA with 26 Ks in 25.2 IP.  He averages nearly a K per inning over his big league career.  Lynn has been very good so far this year and outside of just a couple of implosions he could be sporting numbers in line with the best of the best.  I just can’t see the lowly Padres smashing him around and they strike out more than any other team (14 times last night).  Lynn is my top pitching choice today atop the hill.

Trevor Bauer, P: $6,500 – Bauer has averaged over 20 DK points per outing in his last four.  We all know he has a history of being erratic, but something seems a bit different this year.  He’s the owner of a sub-4.00 ERA on the year and 8.72 K/9.  Seattle’s offense is very mediocre (.302 wOBA vs. RHP).  My favorite value play on the bump.

Francisco Liriano, P: $8,200 – The Giants are rapidly attempting to usurp the role of the coldest offense in baseball.  Liriano hasn’t been awe-inspiring, but he has started to look a bit better since returning from injury with 12 Ks over his last 12 IP and only 1 ER.  Liriano has K potential and the Giants looked absolutely lost against the lowly Van Swirley last night.

Marcus Stroman, P: $8,100 – Stroman has been quietly becoming the Blue Jays best pitcher and it’s paying off at DraftKings as well.  Minus one stinker, Stroman has been fantastic lately, rattling off starts of 31.6, 20.6, 26.2, 0.9, 27.4, and 32 DK points.  The Sawx are hot or cold, so there is some risk that their bats will get going, but it’s unlikely it will be because Stroman doesn’t bring his ‘A’ game.

There are quite a few stacks in play today according to the lefty-righty splits.  The Blue Jays and Rockies each face RHPs today against which they sport wOBAs of .344 and .342, respectively.  The Tigers and Cubs each get lefties and carry wOBAs of .342 and .335, respectively.

Anthony Rizzo, 1B: $5,600 – If you manage to save on pitching today and can afford him, Rizzo is a strong play.  He’s completely reversed his inability to hit lefties from last year and sports a reverse split of .432 wOBA against southpaws.  He’s been a fantastic run producer on a very bad team and the trend continued last night as he drove in two more.

Chris Coghlan, OF: $4,100 – Coghlan carries a .479 wOBA against LHP this year and he’s been hot lately with a .425 wOBA overall in the last 30 days.

Emilio Bonifacio, OF: $3,800 – Bonifacio sports a .409 wOBA against LHP and that doesn’t seem to be declining as he just went 2 for 4 last night against Flande.  He’s been a great table setter and should have an opportunity to steal a base today against De La Rosa.

Victor Martinez, 1B: $4,500 – Yes, he’s cooled down recently, but that has also brought his price tag down to a very manageable one.  I see him as a nice value play on a team that is very stackable today versus the lefty Quintana.  Martinez carries a .500 wOBA against LHP this season and should have plenty of guys on base ahead of him to drive in.

Rajai Davis, OF: $4,300 –  One guy that should be on base multiple times is Davis.  Rajai holds a .429 wOBA against southpaws and also has ownage on Quintana with an 8 for 20 line and 1.079 OPS against him.

Hanley Ramirez, SS: $4,800 – Hanley seems to be healthy enough to hit as he’s posted multi-hit games in his last three.  He’s a force in the middle of a Dodgers lineup that excels against RHP and he owns a BvP line against Harang of 10 for 26 with 5 HRs.

Adrian Gonzalez, 1B: $4,300 – A-Gon seems to be coming out of his funk that lasted for a couple of months recently averaging 8.8 DK points per game over his last 10.  He also has ownage on Harang with a line of 7 for 17 with 3 HRs.

Evan Gattis, C/OF: $4,000 – The White Bear has returned from a mid-summer hibernation on the disgraceful list.  After feasting on Jason Lane (yes the former Astros outfielder) Gattis appears to be rounding into form.  Josh Beckett has not looked right recently and just gave up three bombs in his last start against the Pirates.  El Oso Blanco is as good a bet as any to go yard today.

David Wright, 3B: $4,400 – Wright owns lefties and Cole Hamels.  He’s the owner of a .444 wOBA against LHP and against Hamels he’s gone 24-73 with 5 HRs.  Daniel Murphy has solid numbers against Hamels as well and should be on base plenty for Wright to bring home.

Ben Zobrist, 2B/OF: $4,000 – Since July 1 Zobrist has slashed .333/.429/.467 and he’s on a very hot team facing an erratic pitcher in Matt Garza that the Rays know very well.

I’m Only Happy When It Rains

Right now it looks like Chi-town, Cleveland and Detroit are brewing up some passing thunderstorms.  Check back as gametimes approach.  Teams affected would be CHC, COL, CWS, DET, CLE and SEA.
