Just traded for Lincecum in my league (H2H, pts) giving Broxton and Volquez. Lincecum was a big disappointment last week. I’m willing to take the hit early because I know he will turn it around soon.

maybe i’m missing something, or y’all are playing in much shallower leagues, but the Ks help almost regardless of what the rest of his stats look like. i’d keep him over waino for that reason alone. sure, its not what you drafted, but it’s not like he’s gone ubaldo on fantasy owners.

p.s. i was at the AZ game… he’s made himself a 2-pitch pitcher (fastball & change/splitter) which is not a great recipe for a starter. he needs to start throwing his curve or slider more… or develop a cutter (seems to rescue every other declining pitcher i’ve ever read about) or a 2-seamer.

@SpiralArchitect, Looks like you have a pretty deep staff. Before I crunch the numbers, just two more questions for you because I’ve never played in a points league.

1) Do you use daily or weekly transactions?
2) What does the negative C stand for in hitting?

Contrary to what someone else recommended on the board, I may suggest you make the deal but want to make sure before making that recommendation.

This is a very well thought out analysis with very good data to back it up. However, the most troubling part about his BAA with RISP is that he can’t get himself out of trouble. It’s not because he has been unlucky but rather that his pitches are so hittable. He’s awful from the stretch and when he gets into jams he simply can’t get out of them. That’s the type of thing that will get rookies demoted, coaches fired, and veterans placed on the DL. I expect he will be shut down soon.

I think you’re looking through rose colored glasses for a silver lining. I had him. Traded him for Kenley Jansen & Juan Nicasio and couldn’t be happier. I think all of his peripheral #s not being in line with his career avgs, do not show that he’s due to normalize back to those. I think his sudden lack of control and fear of throwing his slider (was his best pitch) show that he’s a totally different pitcher now. And Cain getting his extension before Timmay scares me too. Not that Cain’s not great, but just another red flag to me. Who knows him better than his organization? Also, Timmay was just good the last two yrs, he wasn’t a stud. I think there’s more red flags than silver linings, maybe I am/was pessimistic about Timmay?

I was offered Morneau, Lincecum and Justin Upton for Fielder and Tim Hudson. I know Prince is the best player in this trade, but it’s an awful lot for 1 hitter.
