I think the trade should go through because nothing has been said prior to this for it not to. That’s the most important thing for your leaguemates to understand. You proposed the offer, he accepted and there was no collusion. Trades shouldn’t be vetoed based on fairness, but your trade has likely made you the league favourite since it’s so early in the season, so your leaguemates do have a reason to bitch. I just think that’s all they can do though. Vetoing it will ruin the league in the long run.

Your league needs to set up its rules for vetoing trades to make it completely objective though. Whether it’s a vote needing the majority, or unanimous, or whatever, something needs to be set in stone so this doesn’t happen. Or maybe the commissioner gets the final ruling. Or maybe you use an outside, unbiased mediator that isn’t affected by the trade whatsoever. Whatever it is, it needs to be something or the bitching will continue.

so , my new favorite pitcher , phil humber , is at risk of losing his job as
early as next week , when peavy comes back , although ozzie has hinted at going with a 6-man rotation .

cold weather has been blamed for the slow start , across the board , of
white sox hitters , but , if humber does go to the bullpen (or is sent down) ,
i’m thinking that the best chance , for white sox hitters to get back on track , is just to get rid of ozzie , once and for all .
