It really isn’t a bad trade (in terms of value), though still a little perplexing from both sides.

Sox’ biggest need is offense, not pitching. With Quentin gone, the Sox’ only legitimate #3-5 hitter will be Konerko. On the other side of it, once Prado returns in a few days and heads back to LF, where does Quentin play? Quentin belongs in the AL anyway, where he can DH as the small injuries mount and his already poor fielding deteriorates.

I’m torn on that Quentin-Beachy trade. I’m a HUGE Quentin fan, but Beachy seems to be an up and coming Dan Haren.

The thing that puzzles me the most though is what would happen to the Sox rotation as a result. They’ve already got 5.5 legitimate starters (Peavy doesn’t get full credit), I wonder what the chain reaction would be. Stick with the 6 man and Edwin Jackson goes to the pen?
