for commoners , the insurance companies are sometimes to blame ,
as they sometimes dictate what procedures must be performed , and in which order .
and , of course , they have unlimited legal funding at their disposal .

case in point :
8 months prior to my back surgery , i had a series of 3 cortisone shots ,
spaced 2 weeks apart .
cost 3k per shot .
luckily (?) , i had insurance .
those shots provided NO relief and i came away with the feeling that the whole procedure is a scam (and i still believe that way) as i ended up in more pain than when i started .

4 months later , as a result of having to fight Cigna for long-term disability , i re-visited the cortisone doc (who , by the way , refused to help me with my claim against Cigna) .
He convinced me to have another series of 3 shots (still 9K in his pocket) , and i agreed primarily because i knew he would cut me some scripts for some vicodins …. (remember , my opinion was that his whole approach/field of medicine was nothing short of quackery) … and it still is .

i asked him ‘why’ he thought this series of shots would be successful ,
when the previous series provided no relief .
his reply ==> “because this time , we’ll give you the shots in the specific area that is giving you the trouble” .

“why the hell didn’t you do that the 1st time ?” , i inquired .

his response ==> “because the insurance companies require that we give you cortisone shots in a general area (the same general area for all back patients) , and then , if that’s not successful , we can give you the shots where you really need them” .

i can only imagine the road-blocks these professional athletes must face .

p.s. forgot to mention the case of bobby jenks (sawx) , who’s claiming he could have died had he followed the team’s doctor’s advice .
interesting claim/case , should you care to look into it .

weei is now “on the kick” of wanting to have the private investigator , who back-ground checked crawford , for 3 months , before awarding him that 142 mil contract , fired , on the spot , for general gross incompetence .

gammons and kurkjian , digging into crawford’s past (tampa bay clubhouse) both confirm that , even without his current injuries , his ego and mental make-up makes boston one of the worst “fits” for him .
anaheim , they contend , would have been better .
but maybe scoscia and crew were more “aware” of crawford’s “condition” .

woke up @ 5:45 am , this morning , and listened to it , from start to finish , before going to the Y to work on my back rehab .

tried listening to it twice before , after my work-outs , but fell asleep both times .

was hoping for something a little less professionally cut , with an inter-active chat-room where i would be allowed to ask some questions …. should you or Rudy have deemed them answer-worthy .

couldn’t figure how to back-up the down-load , so i had to listen VERY carefully (as if i was hanging on every word) …. this led me to analyzing voice patterns and trying to visualize the demographics (profiling?) in order to “see” your real faces , etc.

your voice raises in inflection and much of what you said ends in a question ?
sort of what i think is a valley-girl trait (but not sure) .
also , am putting you at 5’8″ tops , and without moustache .
