@IowaCubs: @BigFatHippo: TWBB is one of the best movies of the last ten years. Boogie Nights is potentially in that ten too. Also, don't get me wrong, I love the Coen Bros, but The Man Who Wasn't There, O Brother, Barton Fink -- eh.

re: Chabon — I only (started) reading The Yiddish Policemen’s Union and I didn’t like it to the point where I put it down and never finished it. So I wouldn’t say on just a fan of his style. I enjoy plot and AA of K & C had it from what I remember.

@Grey: On unrelated (isn't it always?) cultural note , I am about one-fifth of the way through Kavalier & Clay. Doesn't feel like it has really got going yet, but really enjoying it all the same. Love Chabon's style. In other news, a work colleague of mine (who is currently in England but will be back for Xmas) has a complete collection of The Wire on DVD. Oh happy day!
