@IowaCubs: @BigFatHippo: TWBB is one of the best movies of the last ten years. Boogie Nights is potentially in that ten too. Also, don't get me wrong, I love the Coen Bros, but The Man Who Wasn't There, O Brother, Barton Fink -- eh.

That's great news, looks like you got your Xmas present. re: Chabon -- I only (started) reading The Yiddish Policemen's Union and I didn't like it to the point where I put it down and never finished it. So I wouldn't say on just a fan of his style. I enjoy plot and AA of K & C had it from what I remember.

@Grey: On unrelated (isn't it always?) cultural note , I am about one-fifth of the way through Kavalier & Clay. Doesn't feel like it has really got going yet, but really enjoying it all the same. Love Chabon's style. In other news, a work colleague of mine (who is currently in England but will be back for Xmas) has a complete collection of The Wire on DVD. Oh happy day!

@Jimmy ray: 9th round feels about right for Price this year. It's worth going up a round or two (or three) -- think what would have happened if you'd reached (or, at least, outreached that other guy) for Lince last year.

@big o: I like Gallardo for 2009. I'd say 160 IP at a 3.75 and 170 Ks, but his WHIP might be a bit touch and go at times. I'd draft him prolly around a third starter or near 130 and could see him falling even further because people will forget about him. @Wombaty: I haven't discussed Volquez yet, but he's going to regress on his ERA this past year. In 2009, I'd proceed with some caution, but he can still K people which makes him valuable. @IowaCubs: Drafting no pitchers for the first 12 rounds -- ulcer. Drafting closers early -- headache. Drafting a young Rays starter in the 14th round? Priceless. @Jimmy ray: Yeah, prolly around the 5th round in 12 team leagues. I was actually in a 'pert mock draft where someone took Dusty in the 2nd round -- baffling. @Eric W: I like Carrasco as well. And will be looking at him in the coming weeks. BTW, I'm finally back from my Thanksgiving. It's good to be home.

I expect price to have alot of problems with the increase in innings especially against top level competition. Carrasco is going to be my late round young arm i am going to go after will be able to get him much later then price and dosent have to pitch in the al east

You know some bozo will draft price in the 3rd or 4th round. I saw an “expert” draft that had Dustin Pedroia taken in the 2nd round, that is crazy!! Price shouldnt be drafted before the 12th round!!! He would be a great 4th or 5th starter and a rotton 1rst or 2nd starter…..where do you take Dustin Pedroia? I say the 4th or 5th at the highest
