@Alan: I'd agree with that to a certain extent, it does hurt his value. But Gathright only had about 300 at-bats in 2008 (with only about 50 in the 2nd half) when he stole 21 bases. If you really need speed, Gathright will prolly still find 200+ at-bats in 2009 and could steal 15 to 20. His playing time will need to be watched very closely and you may have to slot him and out each day depending on the matchups or if he's playing. Lots of work for him, but if you really need the speed -- SAGNOF.

Those of us in deep AL-only leagues, it may take away the little value Joey Gathright had. He doesn’t have much, but his 21 steals were nice to have on the bench.

Pretty crowded outfield for him to find any significant, consistent playing time, no?
