Thinking out loud. Ayala plays for a team that could yield many more save chances. Not sure how many saves J. Johnson can get even if he never blows a save. Also, whichever RP I drop will likely be grabbed by another playoff bound team. Who would I rather my opponents have?

Thanks, Grey, as always, for the helpful feedback. Some follow-up questions:

Rotoworld is reporting that Sherrill is being shut down for a few days and "will struggle to be ready by mid-September". Meanwhile, Ayala gave up 2 runs in a save situation tonight. Does this change which RP I should drop?

Second question, Dickerson is available and had another great game tonight. I am currently playing Rios, Hart, McLouth, Dunn, Victorino and Cameron in my OF/UT spots. Are any of them worth dropping for Dickerson for September? I am thinking no, but want to make sure that it is not inertia.

Thanks again!

@Grey:

Nah brother, I was using the "someone" as the actual definition (a random person) not the sarcastic "someone" like I say to my invalid Grandad;

In best doting parent voice:
"Someone pooped their pants. Who was it? Was it you? Yes it was. Yes it was-sy, was-sy was."

And by "sit him" (Dickerson) I actually thought I read he platoons and doesn't even play against lefties.

But "someone" is a little testy after the whole Bob Taylor fiasco..and I'm using "someone" in the poopy pants way this time.

@Grey: C'mon now this is New England. I'm more shocked that it only had awesome in quotes rather than wicked awesome.
I cut/paste the reference from http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2008/08/beckett_casey_p.html

Also, from Sox camp Michael Bowden is starting for the Sox tomorrow and his scouting report can also be found on Extra Bases.

@knighttown: Lose Putz if you're secure with saves. Lose Span if you're okay on steals. I think you have to start Lilly, but if it's blowing out, you might get handed a dead donkey. Volquez wasn't the guy we saw in the first half, he's not this guy either. He's in the middle.

1. V-Mart is back. If I activate him I haffa drop someone. So, who to lose out of Ianetta, Putz (have 4 other RP), Cruz, Konerko, Span, Matsui or do I just sit him for a few days to see how things go?

2. +27 IP overage. Do I start Lilly at home vs. Philly? I think I do as their power are lefties.

3. Fuck you Volquez. Go back to China. Innings overage and I feel safe starting you against the Giants but no...

@BSA: Did it really say "awesome?" In quotes? That's wicked awesome.

@knighttown: Are you pointing that blame at me? I tell you to pickup the best thing since sliced cheese and then I take grief when you sit him. Sorry if I told you to sit him, but he's .167 against lefties up until today. And wasn't good in the minors against them either.
