@Paulie Allnuts: Thanks! I did mention Al in June when he had 2 team in the top 20 overall, but now that his 'B' team has slipped to 27th, I figured it wasn't worth mentioning. Ha! In actual fact, there are only 9 leagues where the 1st place team has Bautista, and 2 of those didn't have him all year as they acquired him in a trade. The top 4 teams overall do have Jose, but then only 2 of the next 30.

@VinWins: One more item - Kelly managed to win the first half standings in both leagues without Bautitsta, which is apparently an uncommon event in the RCL. He also spotted the ECFFL some early points, punting Lance Berkman about a week into the season. Perhaps a Razzball column in the future 'splaining how he performs his magic? And, of course, thanks VW for your service. Great job, nice commentary.

@AL KOHOLIC: @VinWins: It should be noted that Kelly D., A.K.A. AL KOHOLIC, presently leads in our league (ECFBL, the most competitive on God's Green Earth) as well as Original Recipe. I don't know if anyone has ever won two RCL titles in the same year, but Kelly has a good shot at pulling it off. And he is doing so in two tough leagues.

I will say, I think im 14th and I get penalized because half my league members quit a week into the season, but I don’t have Bautista!

It’s been fun, but it must be nice to be in an active league with more than 3 people playing

i know at least i will not be winning my own trophy!

good luck guys…. who the hell gets lucky enough to draft Bautista, Braun, and teix, plus victorino andhamels? i dont even wanna know what the rest of the pesky’s roster looks like! i will say this is one weird ass year, and this isnt the booze talking, yet there is some booze talking, its all relative…. is it tuesday? lol

@Jesse: When you are talking about 450+ teams, yeah, you probably need to have the #1 player in order to be near the top.

@Jesse: I don't think it is a necessity, but obviously if you get the best player with a later pick, it is going to help. There are still a lot of games to play, and there are teams only 5-7 points behind who could win without Bautista.
