Chipper Off The Old Leg
Looks like Chipper Jones is headed to the DL. In other news, water is wet, taco diarrhea burns and astronaut ice cream is delicious. Couple of things spring to mind. First, steroids lead to injuries. Before 2004, Chipper played in at least 150 games for eight years in a row. Yes, that’s right. He wasn’t always injury-prone. It just feels that way. Why doesn’t anyone question Chipper about steroids? Is it because he’s white (or Caucasian for the PC gang…. Or posse, if gang’s too edgy for you)? Second, Chipper will challenge .400 and just barely qualify for the batting title. This will result in a bunch of crazy old coots (ala Buzz Bizzinger) coming out of the woodwork to say things like, “Hogwash! Williams had 150 more at-bats!” To this I say, I agree. I hope Chipper doesn’t hit .400. I hate that Bonds owns the home run record, that Titantic beat Star Wars for #1 box office and that Joey Chestnut beat Kobayashi. Third, Chipper seems racist to me. Just like Lance Berkman. This is completely unfounded. Just a gut call. I might even be held libel for saying it, but I’m partially insane, so there’s that. My craziness is why you’re here reading. If I were boring, I’d yawnstipate you and you’d move on. What does this mean for fantasy baseball? Nothing really. Just some things I needed to get off my chest. Anyway, here’s some things I saw yesterday in fantasy baseball:
Roy Oswalt – Might be headed to the Disgraceful List a few months after he should’ve. A month or so ago, I said Oswalt would pitch through injury because that’s just how he’s built. (This site is easily searched so I’m going to leave it up to you guys to find that link. Trust me, I said it. I have a photographic memory for nonsense.) Oswalt’s not Chipper Jones, I’ll tell you that. He’ll keep pitching if he can. Since he came out of the game, my non-professional opinion is that Oswalt may hit the DL.
Chad Cordero – Out for the season. As far back as April 3rd (Yes, I found that link myself, smart ass.), I told you Rauch would get more saves and you should unload Cordero, whether you listened is on you. You do what you do; I do what I do and we meet somewhere in the middle. Mapquest it!
Juan Pierre – Hit the DL for the first time in his career. He’ll be out long enough to drop him in most leagues (4-6 weeks). The one guy who held Ethier this whole time just said this, “Yes!” Everyone else just said, “Whatever.”
Eric Byrnes – He aggravated his hamstring. (Or is it reaggravated? And if it’s aggravated then when does it become reaggravated? After the second aggravation? Third? This shizz will keep me up!) I told you to go after Byrnes, now that I see it will be a recurring injury, get out before you’re *pinkie to mouth* burned. Not worth it, trade him for 50 cents on the dollar.
Troy Percival – Wow, big night in fantasy baseball, right? Right. So he (re)aggravated his hamstring strain too. (Maybe… and this is a longshot, but bear with me…. Maybe Byrnes had a Percival voodoo doll and vice versa, but they made a pact to not use each other’s voodoo dolls. Then when Byrnes felt a tweak in his hamstring, he thought Percy betrayed him, so he went into his locker and stuck a needle in Percival’s voodoo doll hammy. Or not. I’m speculating.) Wheeler takes over for Percy until he returns.
Felix Hernandez – Right when the injury happened I said he’d be out at least 15 days. Everyone else said he’d make his next start. I called bullshit. Now he’s headed to the DL. Are you a doctor, Grey? No, I saw the injury and F-Her was carried off the field. That means DL for a last place team’s ace in June. Dur.
Brian Fuentes – Kazaam!
Josh Willingham – 2 HRs, been getting some “Would you get with this or would you get with that? I think you’ll get with this, because this is where it’s at” questions regarding Willingham. So here goes, Willingham over Thome, Swisher, Hermedia, anyone on the A’s, Headley, Bruce, Lyle Overbay, Chris Davis, Swisher, Per Djoos, Snyder, Billy Butler, Frenchy and Fred Lewis. Willingham not over Tulowitzki, Doumit, Kouzmanoff, Gordon, Dye, Parra, any closer currently getting saves and Corey Hart. This list was paid for by the committee to get Willingham on your team.
Mark DeRosa – 2 HRs, 6 RBIs and the start at third as Aramis took a family vacay. Must be something about the last name Ramirez because I could totally see Aramis and Manny getting along like two peas in an empanada.
Jhonny Peralta – 5-for-5, HR, 3 doubles, 3 RBIs, superflouous “H.”
Jim Thome – Hit another home run. I mentioned yesterday that he was getting picked up by me and he did.
Matt Thornton – Got the save yesterday instead of Jenks. Think it might have been just a matter of Jenks being overworked. I’m trying to get to the bottom of this. Stay tuned… (Or simply tell me what’s going on. That might be nice for a change.)
Joel Zumaya – Got the save in Jones’s stead. Just another case of the regular closer being overworked. Or is it? Yes, it seems that way. But it could mean Zumaya might get eight to ten saves from this point on just to “keep everyone fresh,” which is also known as “not letting Jones blow too many games.”
Aaron Harang – 7 IP, 8 Ks, 3 ER, 1.14 WHIP. Now that looks like a Harang line. I’ll take that from now until October with a few wins mixed in.
Roy Halladay – Threw a four-hit, shutout against the Mariners. Jeffrey Loria, sick of trying to make the Marlins bad and failing, announced he would buy Seattle’s team, move them to Florida and call them the Marliners. First move: Rehire Bill Bavasi. Where did you go so terrifically wrong with Sexson that I went so horribly right with Jorge Cantu?
Dave Bush – Pimple-faced teenager runs in front of your car, “Watch out, Mister! Dave Bush is falling back to earth!” You stop short and Dave Bush falls in front of your car.

You’d drop Renteria or Kepp for Willingham, then?
July 1st, 2008 at 2:34 am
Willingham not over Kouzmanoff? wow, this one is interesting…
is it because of positional VORP? or is it something other than that?
how about Chris Davis VS. Kouzmanoff? which one could provide better statistical output @ 1B/3B position for rest of season?
i’m in league that counts H/AB + R + TB + HR + RBI + BB + SB + AVG + OPS, hence the question…..
July 1st, 2008 at 2:56 am
Is Wakefield a somewhat safe play @TB? The knuckler has been dancing lately.
@goknick: I got a chance to watch Davis last night when he played the Yanks. He only went 1-4, but I gotta say he has a sweet swing. He just looks like a hitter.
July 1st, 2008 at 4:11 am
@ Grey: http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=40.857525&lon=-84.456514&zoom=13&q1=middle
let’s meet up dude.
July 1st, 2008 at 5:26 am
@wakeNbake: Wakefield – That knuckleball looooves the dome. No interference from the wind.
July 1st, 2008 at 5:40 am
YES!? Now lets see if Ethier can take advantage of the opportunity.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:01 am
I have three starters goin at home tonight.
Ervin against A’s.
Garza against Boston.
Baker against Tigers.
Am i starting all three, or what’s the recommendation??
July 1st, 2008 at 6:03 am
All this talk of Wakefield….does that mean Garza is not a good play? I’m pretty nervous to start him tonight. Shields worked nicely for me last night but 2 nights in a row against the Sawx is pushing it.
Anyone see about a 2-1 or 3-2 game tonight?
July 1st, 2008 at 6:10 am
Harang was dropped in our league. I put in my waiver but was swiped by someone else. The interesting thing is he dropped Dustin McGowan for Harang. I’m not really following the logic by this guy since I think it may be a push between the 2. I’m probably putting in a waiver for McGowan now.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:17 am
Peralta was unbelievable last night and I almost went and picked him up again. I’ve been starting JJ Hardy lately and I’ve got to say, he deserves mention too. He’s in middle of one of his hot streaks right now and he went 3/5 last night himself. He and Perralta have been filling the position admirably for me the last couple weeks as Yunel Escobar has struggled with injury.
I’m counting the days to getting Furcal back in the lineup….hopefully 100% again.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:20 am
@Joe: I think you’ve got to start Ervin against the A’s. I’m debating the Garza vs. Boston thing myself. And Baker vs. Detroit looks pretty decent at the moment since Detroit will be without Magglio who’s on the DL, and Cabrera who’s about to go on the DL (DAMNIT).
July 1st, 2008 at 6:30 am
Well Chris Davis is still available… Do I go get him for Headley? I would’ve done it already but they seriously look like players of the same mold.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:54 am
@wakeNbake: Yeah I saw the game last night as well (well it’s morning in asia here); Davis looked confident enough, but I can’t say the same about Bradley, whom i promptly saw him hilariously throw-off the bat on his 4th strike-out AB…..
i just hope Bradley doesn’t drop-off that quickly.. i have both him and davis on my roster…. bradley served me well so far…
July 1st, 2008 at 7:00 am
@Commie-tment Issues: Davis might be different player than Headley, at least in my opinion.
Davis definitely have more raw power in his swing, while Headley is looking promising also, I think it’s a toss-up in terms of production right at the moment (Davis better power number, Headley better AVG).
Headley is a lock to play everyday, while i suspect Davis is gonna take time off here and there….
i’ve also dropped Headley for Davis, but i’ll tell you this much– none of them will give you much BB contribution right now, if BB is one of your fantasy category.
July 1st, 2008 at 7:03 am
Am I a moron for even thinking about picking up Aubrey Huff to replace Glaus at 3rd???Kouz is available but just not doing it for me.
Also, does anyone see Mussina get 20 wins?
July 1st, 2008 at 7:11 am
@BSA: Is a loooving knuckleball a good thing?…ha
July 1st, 2008 at 7:29 am
According to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Adam Wainwright (finger) is hoping to return shortly after the All-Star break.
Wainwright is scheduled to be examined Monday by doctors, at which point he could be cleared to begin throwing.
….BOY THAT WOULD BE SWEET I NEED THIS GUY BACK
July 1st, 2008 at 7:37 am
Bookmark this one Grey, some real LOL’s (if we did those sorts of things, which we don’t). I get your drift on the Chipper thing. If we’re coming clean, I get the sense that John Rocker is a racist too.
I got another home run from my catcher, Vicrodguel Saltolivandez, last night. That’s 2. So I guess that meanis I’ve had 2 times as many HR from the catcher position this week than then entire seaso…no, that’s not right…I hate trying to fucking compare things to zero. If I remember my Grade 12 math correctly, zero times anything is still zero. It’s like fucking magic. Zero times stegasaurus? Still zero.
And yes, Grade 12 is when I learned my multiplication tables. You see, I’m Canadian and we prefer to teach our children life skills that will prepare them for one of the three occupations available to us North of the 47th; igloo/wigwam building, Mountie or something in the dog sled business, instead of fru-fru things like math. For instance, I did a double major in Pharmacy and Grizzly Bear skinning. Tough course load.
Bottom line? My catchers have hit more than 2.876 billion times as many HR’s this week than the entire season combined.
Oh yeah, it’s my Country’s birthday today so that should be acknowledged, eh?
July 1st, 2008 at 7:41 am
Is Ethier worth consideration now? I’m in strong need of a 3rd OF due to Bruce’s suckage. I was thinking of dumping Headley for him, instead of C. Davis.
Thoughts?
@Steve: Either one. Drop Renteria first.
@goknick: Does have to do with position and his 2nd half last year was solid. Here’s to another one. I want Kouz over Davis.
@wakeNbake: I wouldn’t go anywhere near Wakefield, but he does usually have very solid games against the Rays. Davis looks great and you might catch lightning in the bottle but he Ks a lot too.
@Commie-tment Issues: Ha!
@Joe: I wouldn’t start Garza.
@Frank Rizzo: JJ has been very solid. Good call on that.
@Commie-tment Issues: re: Headley/Davis — They’re very similar, but I like Davis home park/lineup and upside a bit better.
@goknick: You shouldn’t be relying on Bradley.
@jph: Kouz is better than Huff.
@knighttown: Wow, that’s another great comment. Didn’t you win Comment O the Week last week? Good luck, but remember Pat Riley has a copyright on Three-Peat.
@Commie-tment Issues: I want Davis, Bruce or Headley over Ethier.
July 1st, 2008 at 8:06 am
@Grey: Added Davis, dropped Headley. Looked at Ethier, shrugged shoulders. Emailed the girlfriend, now going to the bathroom.
Peace out.
July 1st, 2008 at 8:15 am
@Grey: Thome over Swisher? Swisher is a better name for basketball than baseball. Last year Thome was pretty good in the second half.
July 1st, 2008 at 8:16 am
@Grey: 1) So get this: should I drop Davis immediately for Kouz? nobody seemed to want Kouz in my league right now, it’s just 1 click away from adding-dropping…
2) Bradley issue: Bradley has been savior to my team so far, and i know i shouldn’t count on his performance for rest of year, but since no one from my league is biting my trade bait, so…
my question would be, can i survive to win few more games w/ following batters:
C-posada, 1B-pujols,
2B-pedroia, SS-tejada,
3B-huff, OF-willingham + bruce + swisher + thames,
2B/SS-kelly johnson, 1B/3B-b. butler, UT-thome,
bench-ramirez (cubs on maternity leave) + bradley + davis (both bad match-up vs. nyy)
DL-ortiz + ordonez
i know i probably shouldn’t dropped jason kubel for thome…
July 1st, 2008 at 8:16 am
@Grey: Chris Davis over Thome over Swisher?
July 1st, 2008 at 8:20 am
@everyone: is Aviles done?
@Commie-tment Issues: Well played.
@Zebo: @goknick: Thome/Kouz were solid in 2nd half and I’m getting on board now. The thing is with Davis, he’s completely unknown and may hit 15 home runs in the month or he may strikeout 30 times these next two weeks and be back in the minors by July 15th. Davis is high risk/high reward, but Thome/Kouz can be very usuable and both have shown signs recently. So you gotta ask yourself, do you feel lucky? Well, do ya?
Also, I don’t really want Swisher, but he could have a good week or two.
July 1st, 2008 at 8:26 am
@Zebo: i was tempted to get Aviles when Miggy Tejada was struggling last month… but even to that, i think he’s just short-term pick-up.
July 1st, 2008 at 8:28 am
Anybody ever have a weekend trip turn into almost a month from random troubles and delays popping up? Ugh.
Anyway, I cut ties with Jay Bruce a while ago because my OF is so stacked, but the waiver wire is enticing. I’ve got Beltre behind Aramis at 3rd, so he’s probably droppable.
OF: Holliday, Rios, Crawford, Hamilton
My Util spot is chosen from among the 4th OF, backup 3B, or the one of Tejada/Tulowtizki who isn’t at SS for me that day.
Now to the FAs. Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino, and I’m behind in steals. Also just noticed some others while typing this: Votto (behind Fielder), and Encarnacion.
Recommendations? I really like Edwin as a backup 3B–over Beltre even–but I’m averse to Adrians not married to Rocky. Or is Pence good enough to fustercluck my OF straight up?
July 1st, 2008 at 8:39 am
@Grey: yeah Kouz is definitely available in my league at this moment, i’ll take a deep look; here’s the thing though, he’s not drawing walks…. but he sure can hit.
what would be your projection for Kouz’s second half?
July 1st, 2008 at 8:54 am
@Grey: “Also, I don’t want Swisher, but he could have a good week or 2.”
It was just 2/3 weeks ago that you were saying to go get Swisher on your roster. I questioned you about it stating I didn’t have room since I was happy with my roster but you stated that I should find a way to get him on my roster. Please explain the change of heart?
July 1st, 2008 at 9:12 am
Snyder is killing me. How would you rank the following?
Iannetta, Napoli, Hernandez, Olivo, Flores, Varitek, Ramirez
@cockyphoenix: Victorino.
@goknick: 30/14/45/.310
@Frank Rizzo: And he’s been hot since, right? Swisher’s super streaky and he’s been hot and might stay hot for another two or three weeks. Then suddenly mid-July Swisher will revert to April Swisher. What I said was in context amongst Thome, Kouz and Davis. Sorry, if that wasn’t clear in my comment. I think Kouz/Thome will have better 2nd halfs and Davis could have the best or the worst. He’s an all or nothing type hitter.
@JR: Olivo, Iannetta, Napoli, Hernandez, punt.
July 1st, 2008 at 9:38 am
@Commie-tment Issues: I think it is a perfect storm for Ethier. Injury happens, and he has been white hot in July his two previous seasons. My reasoning is that he likes it when the ladies bring their titties to Chavez Ravine in bikini tops. That would definitely get me to hit 1.000+ OPS.
@Grey: I hear you on Chipper. Atlanta’s pitchers get a free pass too. They’d have you believe Jordan Schaefer is one bad apple but that got swept under the rug very quickly. Hell, Andruw Jones’ production year-by-year makes more sense if he was 35 right now…
@Endless Summer: Yeah, the Andruw thing makes no sense either. Good call.
July 1st, 2008 at 9:48 am
@Grey: Ok then, Thome is still on our WW. I think I’d like to hold onto Swisher for awhile, especially since Miggy’s hurt, but I’m considering dropping Connor Jackson for him. Jackson is great for BA but the R’s and RBI have dried up some in the desert and his power is gone. I’ve just held him on my bench because he was so good in the beginning of the year but now I don’t see why I wouldn’t drop him for Thome. Thome’s a pain in the razz though because he’s only “utility” on yahoo. I’ve been using Giambi in the utility spot.
@Frank Rizzo: I wouldn’t drop CJ for him. You can’t have two utility guys.
July 1st, 2008 at 10:44 am
@Grey: My RCL team sucks a big one offensively, I’m last or close to last in about every category! My pitching is pretty boss so I could probably afford to move a Javier Vasquez, so could you tell these schmohawks how awesome he is!
***Everyone*** I’m not sure there’s a better pitcher right now than Javier Vazquez. On top of natural ability, I once saw him churn butter with his toes.
July 1st, 2008 at 11:09 am
@Grey: Now that’s what I’m talking about. Come and get em! I promise I’m only looking for about 40 HRs, 90 RBIs, 100 Rs, and 15 SBs in return!
July 1st, 2008 at 11:11 am
@Grey: Davis over Swisher? What if Swish had hit four grand slams this past week, instead of just two?
I agree on Swish’s streakiness, but he can have two good months, not just two good weeks. See April through May ‘06. I’m buying in on Swish — have had him for the past few weeks and I’m nothing but smiles.
@Baron Von Vulturewins: I more or less agree with you. Was about three weeks ago I bought in on Swisher. We’re about two to three weeks away from the wheels coming off.
July 1st, 2008 at 12:10 pm
About Swish….opinions/assumptions are being thrown out based on the past.
Question: Are the itty-bitty ballpark, the team change, the manager/phylosophy change, and the change of talent around Swish being taken into account? They should be.
July 1st, 2008 at 12:12 pm
I look at Swisher as a poor man’s Adam Dunn – Less RBI’s and about 15 less HRs.
@JR: Iannetta, Olivo, Napoli, punt.
@Zebo: Aviles ain’t done. He just got moved to the top of the order. With only 15 strikeouts in 94 at-bats, he’ll steadily get on base in front of Gordon and Guillen – I’m guessing at least top 12 SS production going forward.
SWISHER — Swisher is streaky, which you can use to your advantage, but let’s not forget some things we know. He’s crap. He Ks 125+, .250, he had 22 HRs last year, which isn’t very good, and that IS his pace for this year, he bats anywhere from 1st (which is bad for him) to 7th (which is better, but not ideal), and he thinks he’s a Giambi with his facial hair.
EDIT: Missed a few words.
July 1st, 2008 at 1:07 pm
@Grey: I just love it how he has a granny, then hits two more yesterday and everyone jumps on it like a drunk sorority girl passed out on their couch. Yes – it would’ve been good to have him when he hit those dingers, no – he’s not going to repeat this week in and week out. And I wouldn’t really take the risk of leaving him in my line-up simply in hopes of Swisher having a good week/day/game. I’d rather let the 0-4 with 3 Ks outings in between ride on the free-agency.
However, if there’s a moron lacking power in my league. I’d flip him with another player for an upgrade.
July 1st, 2008 at 1:13 pm
@Grey: @Hank: @Grey:
I’ll take Vazquez. You get a McDonald’s Apple Pie and my wonderful case of the clap.
July 1st, 2008 at 1:33 pm
Would you trade Billingsley and Kendrick for Harang and Pedroia?
I am sick of Kendrick’s empty .300 average at this point
July 1st, 2008 at 1:35 pm
@KarlJ: I’d do that.
July 1st, 2008 at 1:43 pm
“…might even be held libel for saying it…” No, I believe expressing an opinion is still protected speech, and thus, no liability attaches to the potentially libelous statement. Sorry, but I’m still at work and thinking like a lawyer.
As far as Swisher, he’s on a growing list of players that are dead to me, along with Sheets, King Felix and Penny.
@johnwhorfin: Thanks. Maybe you can give P0rk Burns a job. I think he’s in law school. And I believe his real name is P0rk Burns with a zero.
July 1st, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Grey, i drafted Swisher with high hopes of at least a repeat performance of two years ago moving to a better lineup and ballpark, i stuck with him through his first two craptastic months and am now hoping for a glorious summer of longballs after his resurgent June…
I read your 08 rankings again earlier today with a view to pinpointing some buy low opportunities…And you seemed extremely high on him then, saying
“We finally got some great upside here as Swisher takes his carefree attitude over to the White Sox and gets to hit in a much better lineup. He needs to stabilize his average, which is odd for a man with a good eye, but there’s major sleeper potential here. I’m high on Swisher this year and these numbers are low-balling him. Projections: 95/30/100/.275″
Why the change of heart on Swish??
@Joe: That was written in January, and the season happened. I realized he was more the player that we had seen and less the player I hoped he become in his age 27 season, a year some players breakout. A month later in February, I checked in with, “The move to the new team was a boon to his value, but that was mostly because his pre-trade value was pretty boon-less. Caveat #5, Don’t go drafting Swisher expecting top OF value. He’s okay, but keep expectations in order. Projections: 90/33/105/.250″
Now five months later, I say he might only reach 25. Do you see what Swisher does? He disappoints.
EDIT: Typo
July 1st, 2008 at 3:17 pm
16 team keeper league
a: Crawford/Ed Encarnacion/Weeks
b: Chipper/Bradley/T. Hunter
what do you think about this trade?
tia
@justin: I’m thinking I want neither side, but I’d have to take the Chipper side. BTW, did you sign that Tia, as in Tia Tequila? If so, that’s awesome.
July 1st, 2008 at 3:42 pm
i thought her name was Tila?
July 1st, 2008 at 3:45 pm
It is. Grey’s clearly not “with it”.
Ha! MTV trash…
@Commie-tment Issues: @Joe: AHHHHHHH!!!!! My cred is gone! No! Don’t look at me! I’m ugly!
July 1st, 2008 at 3:52 pm
She’s hosting a club opening here in Baltimore this Thursday… that’s the only way I knew – saw the name on a poster today.
@Commie-tment Issues: Sure.
July 1st, 2008 at 4:05 pm
@johnwhorfin: @Grey: Grey you beat me to it. I’m actually done with the school part, now the only thing standing in the way of P0rk Burn with a zero Esq. is the bar in 4 weeks.
Razzball Commenters League Week in Review, Vol. 2 is up in the Rants/Raves/Reviews. Point and laugh.
July 1st, 2008 at 4:11 pm
Loney, Co-Jack, and Kotchman are all available in my league. Which guy do you see being the most productive the rest of the year?
@p0rk burn: Saw the RCL and commented. Thanks for putting it up.
@cruisinkc: CJ
July 1st, 2008 at 4:23 pm
my chris young & chone figgins for brian roberts? What is the deal with Figgins? Is he going to pick it up anytime soon?
@Nick: Figgins had a knee infection. I’d do that trade.
July 1st, 2008 at 5:43 pm
Are you as low on Roberts now as you were prior to the season Grey?
@Joe: I had him at Projections: 105/10/55/.290/30 — I think those steals are obviously too low now. Add ten steals.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:07 pm
FYI, Chipper’s in the starting lineup against the Phillies tonight.
And Chipper isn’t questioned for steroids for the same reason Ken Griffey Jr. isn’t: they are both just injury prone.
Plus, Chipper has put up the same type numbers he produced before he became an injury liability. He didn’t have any big power surge.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:11 pm
Looks like i should have started Garza Grey.
I decided i had better listen to you as i was cursing myself after sitting Parra against the Twins contrary to your advice a couple days back.
But after this latest screw up of yours, coupled with the “Tia” Tequila debacle, and your shocking slander of my boy Swisher, i’m off to reach Karabell on Twitter. Adios, razzball! I may return to use your site again if i’m entering any razzball leagues, cos your general player projections should give me a craptastic team!
Heh.
@BlueWorkhorse: From AP, “Manager Bobby Cox said today that he fully expected Chipper to land on the disabled list.”
@Joe: Damn you, Garza! You’ve driven a wedge between Joe and I.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Chipper’s playing tonight anyway, i’m watching bits of that game.
It’s ok, Grey, Baker’s doin just fine for me, that eases my burning uncontrollable anger.
@Joe: I’m happy you’re almost happy.
July 1st, 2008 at 6:34 pm
Did Double E get taken out of the game for some reason today??
July 1st, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Grey, a couple queries before i sign off….
Adam LaRoche 2-2 tonight after goin 3-5 yesterday, is he finally turning the corner and worth a pickup?
Should i be getting worried about Aviles being a flash in the pan and pick up Peralta, Barmes, Bartlett or Aybar? He’s 0-4 tonight…
Is Brett Gardner, called up by the Yanks, of value? I hear he has speed…
Do you trim your tache regularly?
All the best….
July 1st, 2008 at 6:49 pm
double E got ejected.
@Joe: Gardner is really fast, Id only add him if your desperate for speed tho

@Grey: Alright alright… I totally want some STDs from her!
@Joe: re: LaRoche — Might get hot, worth a shot if you’re desperate. re: Aviles — I’d give him another week. re: Gardner — what wakeNbake said. re: ’stache — trim and Just For Men, weekly.
@Commie-tment Issues: You and me both.

@Grey: what’s your take on Rangers’ lineup? are they going to maintain their offensive production level?
July 1st, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Whoa. I see beisbols. Now people will know me for the uncontributing waste-of-space that I am. At least my “Screw O.Cab.” comments will be rated high.
@cruisinkc: Yeah, if you need a starter. Cain’s worth a shot.
@goknick: When it gets hot in Texas, they actually get more runs. Rangers problems every year is pitching.
@p0rk burn: Yeah, we’re trying them out. We’ll see.

Would u give up Berkman for Sizemore?
@wakeNbake: I gave up Pujols for Sizemore, so yeah. Definitely if you need steals and runs more than average and RBIs.

I’ve also seen Elijah Dukes heating up recently, are we seeing Dukes of wizard or Dukes of hazard in next few months? is he worth pick up versus my current OF core of Willingham-Swisher-Thame-Bradley-Bruce?
Should I drop anyone for Dukes right now? or i could use some time to wait to see if he indeed keeps the wizardness?
July 2nd, 2008 at 3:46 am
@cruisinkc: Yeah, i’d do that trade.
@wakeNbake: I’m starting to get worried about Capps.
@goknick: I had Dukes on my team up until Butler got called back up, i like his potential over Thames. Branyan is Thames-lite, and neither of them are gonna be worth a roster spot soon. I’d sell Bradley for 50 cents on the dollar as well, if you can get someone valuable for him, do it, cos you’ll regret it when he breaks down physically/mentally soon if you don’t.
