Technically, Charlie Tilson could’ve been listed in my fantasy baseball rookie series, and Tom Murphy could’ve been listed in the fantasy baseball sleeper series, and Jason Heyward could’ve been listed in the “I will never draft him again” series if there was a “I’m never going to draft him again” series, but here we are.  When I first heard of Charlie Tilson, I thought it was a mispronounced dinner reservation for the former Dallas actress.  “Is there a Charlie Tilson here?  Your table is ready.”  “It’s Charlene Tilton.”  “And this is P.F. Chang’s, so you’ll have to excuse me if I don’t care.”  Damn, P.F. Chang’s needs to watch their customer service!  By the by, P.F. Chang’s might be the only restaurant where I look more forward to the free sauce they mix at the table than their actual food you pay for.  Me going there is like someone going to Burger King for their ketchup.  Okay, Charlie Tilson, or as you like to call him, “Who the fudge is Charlie Tilson?”  He’s the guy that stole 46 bases in Double-A in 2015 and was traded to the White Sox for Zach Duke.  He’s also penciled in as the White Sox starting center fielder.  Oh, and if you haven’t heard, the White Sox have already punted 2017.  So, what can we expect from Charlie Tilson for 2017 fantasy baseball and what makes him a sleeper?

SAGNOF, you goofy bastards, and no one has heard of him, hence he’s a sleeper.  I’ll be honest, I hadn’t heard of him until I looked at the White Sox’s tentative Opening Day lineup, and saw Tilson penciled into the leadoff spot.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Tilson is more of a nine-hole hitter, but, for AL-Only leagues, there might be something here.  As previously mentioned on the aforementioned tip, 46 steals in 134 Double-A games.  That plays, especially if he’s leading off.  It’s also slightly misleading; Tilson had 19 caught stealings to get 46 steals.  19 times caught in Double-A and still getting an opportunity is like the criminal career of Robert Durst.  How about we lock Tilson up for the murder of Susan Berman and call it a day?  I also watched video of Tilson on the YouTube and, if I’m being honest, he didn’t look hella fast.  He looked Dexter Fowler fast vs. Jarrod Dyson fast, if that is more explanatory than ‘he didn’t look hella fast.’  What also piqued my interested or ‘peaked my interest’ if a rock climber or voyuer is reading, Steamer gave Tilson the projections of 7 HRs and 18 SBs.  Um, wow.  FanGraphs gave him eight homers, and this is a guy that had eight homers in 234 games in Double and Triple-A combined the last two years.  So, brucely, I’m missing where that power is coming from.  For 2017, I’ll give Charlie Tilson projections of 63/4/34/.273/25 in 487 ABs.

His torn left hamstring may not cooperate with your SAGNOF projections. In fact, I could see it scaring children by the million from drafting Charlie Tilson when he comes ’round. (They sing “I’m in love. What’s that song? I’m in love with that song.)

Actually as the genre goes it is epic. Thing is it might not be your cup of tea. It’s entirely in Chinese (finding the English subtitles should be easy, if they are not already hard coded). Otherwise it’s very good and last year they came out with part 3.

More a fan of sheep’s cheese but it’s rather expensive so can only eat it when the price falls below 7.5$ per pound. Such is life.

Random question for ya! Buxton will almost certainly be available for FA drafting in my keep 7 forever league (12 team mixed, +$3/yr, 5 OF and MI/CI).

What’s the most you’d want to be paying for him (out of $260)?

In my way too early thinking, it seems like he’s almost a weird must draft in keeper formats. Yes, he might come at a markup relative to his past performance, but if things click for him it seems like he should blow past that auction price.

Then again, I bet Kiermaier’s .255, 20/20-ish season would still go for less than Bux…though with Bux in a keeper you’d be paying for future keeper value.

    What do you think?

Current keepers are Mookie Betts ($30), Marcell Ozuna ($4), Edwin Diaz ($10) and Michael Fulmer ($1). Can keep 2 more from Matt Carpenter ($21), JD Martinez ($30), Jason Kipnis ($12) Ian Desmond ($20), Kevin Gausman ($5), or Jameson Taillon ($10). Leaning Kipnis/Gausman, but that may just be because I’m cheap in real life and see lowest cost hitter/lowest cost pitcher. Who would you keep?

The projections actually seem OK when you throw in the juiced ball factor in MLB. One of the radical leftist websites had a surprisingly great article regarding the evidence so far. I think it was fivethirtyeight.com Search for “juiced ball” and you won’t have to face the political drivel.
