@anchovies, You have a right to be concerned, striking out the side is sort of what Kimbrel does. AJ Burnett has a juicy matchup @ Houston so it’s probably safe to start him.

possibly my lamest question of the year but it was a long night and i cant seem to think straight. if i take all the pitching cats, im in the finals. (H2H league)

i’ve really got the pitching categories locked down and my opponent has no starter today (whip is kinda close:1.50/.90). the only problem is i only have him by 2 k’s. my fear is his closer (kimbrel) comes in and gets 2 k’s (or more) and im screwed.

should i chance burnett or just let it lie and sit him down and hope i can keep my lead in ribbies? he’s really have to suck it up for me to lose those categories…most of which are out of reach. again, my opponent only has a single reliever to go with. i’ve got a safe lead with rbi’s, too…barring a total collapse which i’ve just jinxed myself with by even asking…

@T.J., I would probably bench Jones and Marte, depending on what categories you need. If you need the speed I might play Marte in place of Davis or Hart. If you need the power and not speed I’d sit Marte and Ellsbury.

Important to mention Ellsbury won’t play until Tuesday, he’s sitting the entire weekend with a undisclosed injury they are calling minor. So it is possible Ellsbruy sits more games next week, and with days off Monday and Thursday he’ll probably see the least ABs of the players you mentioned. Jacoby’s the man when he’s on, but I’d monitor his status closely before deciding to start him next week.

6×6 (R, OPS) finals coming up next week. Can play five of Hart, Garrett Jones, Ellsbury, J-Up, Chris Davis, Delmon Young, and Starling Marte. Normally the choice would be easy: Delmon and Marte ride the bench. Ellsbury and J-Up are my only players with double-figure steals this season, while Marte has started stealing bases recently. Hart is coming back from an injury. Ellsbury has two off-days next week, while Young has none and Chris Davis has a doubleheader (with one off-day).

Which two do I bench? Thanks.

In a ROTO league and I stand to lose a lot with a bad start here, but gain the lead with 2 quality starts.

Gio Vs Mil and Wainewright @ ChC

Do I have any reason to be afraid of these two starts? SON loves Gio, Wainwright less so.

@AdamH, Rosario should definitely be owned, he’s the man. But Plouffe probably has the better odds to hit for power with the extra game.

Justin Maxwell.

It’s obvious that Maxwell is basically Mark Reynolds with outfield eligibility. That said, Maxwell will be in the AL next year, and should garner plenty of playing time. Looking at his career splits in Arlington and The Cell in Chicago (albeit, both small sample sizes) he’s done pretty good…

The deepest-deep of deep sleepers for 2013?

@Joe, These are all good match ups. I think Chris Tillman is your safest bet for the win and 4 to 7 Ks. If your feeling dangerous, Jake Odorozzi makes his debut against the lowly Indians and who knows what he could do. Feeling lucky? Otherwise, I’d go with Tillman.

@Abdoozy, Chapman is going to be eased back into role so Broxton might have another save chance or two in him. Frieri, although more firmed entrenched as closer, has been a nightmare to own lately and I wouldn’t blame you from dropping him for Storen.

I own Frieri, who Sciosiapath says is going to be sharing save ops with Downs and Jepsen. I also own Broxton who may lose some closing time to AC. Would you drop either of these nebulous savers for a slightly less nebulous saver in Storen? I don’t have anyone else I can afford to dump.
