@big o: Swisher should be at 1st for the majority of the games in 2009. Matsui will split time at DH and LF with Damon, and maybe Swisher will see some time at DH too. As the case has been for a few years now, the Yankees have too many all hit/no field guys.

wasn’t this the year matsui was supposed to go to 1st ?
if not , why not put abreu there ? i think he hurts them in the outfield .

@Mark: Melky or Gardner are the center field options as of right now. Abreu was in right and Damon was mostly in left. Abreu might be back with the Yanks in 2009, but it shouldn't be in center. Melky took major steps backwards in 2008, so Gardner should have the upper hand for playing time in 2009. This is all contingent on the Yanks not getting a high-priced CF this offseason.

Who else plays in the Yankees outfield? Is Abreu out of the picture at this point?
