@Matt2, Depending on how deep the league is Gordon could be a game changer in sb, but last I heard he won’t be back till the end of August. Werth should be back soon, but if you need the spot I couldn’t blame you for dropping him in shallower leagues.

I need SB and currently have Dee Gordon on my bench, since I have Werth in my 1 DL spot. My question is, by the time Dee comes back and gets back into the swing of things, is he worth holding onto, or should I drop him to open up a roster spot? Speaking of which, any idea when he is due back?

@jared, In that format (depending on how many teams) your keeps should be top 25 players and I’m not sure Harper is top 25 next year (he very well might be). Hamels is probably the safer bet for top 25 value in a keeper league, but Harper is certainly a guy to own in keepers for years to come.

The time to trade for Lincecum was 2 weeks ago when he still sucked (I tried and failed). Owners have so much invested in him (draft pick/$$, long season of bad stats) that I think they realize selling low is guaranteeing a big loss on investment. A couple good starts has them hoping for a turnaround 2nd half and only modest losses at end of season.

You can’t “buy low” on a guy with his track record AFTER 3 straight good starts. His owners are now certainly holding on, as that’s the only path to profitability with him.

@Deadwoods, Cruz for McDonald is definitely fair. I’d probably want a little more for Nelly, but I wouldn’t blame you for making that trade.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure Cruz/Diamond for Strasburg is even close, but if someone is panicking about the innings limit and you can capitalize, go for it.
